Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Sun 4th July. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier![*]As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.[*]When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.[*]Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning. boardoo-flags-smiley-2247.gifJuly 4th Big day in the USA. Not much going on over here. When the US base was in operation at Newquay we used to get an invite to the festivities, but alas technology means they don't need to be here anymore...

Work today, I already know there is a carp job waiting for us...:( as I was in last night till 10. OH rolled in at 1.30am after playing a a gig a a local hotel, seems they had fun.
One of you was right DD was pooped after being up all night and then working at MC D's all day. She has 3 shifts next weekend, so will be getting in to the working habit.

Anyone got any ideas where I can get more smilies that work on these pages?

Have a good day...

WM is on, I have some ironing to do, I need to make some cakes for a cake sale but no other cooking much as I bought the 3 for £10 chickens last night, cooked them & froze 2.
I'm looking after next doors cat next week, I just hope the bloody thing survives, last year they had 2 cats when they left & only one by the time they arrived back, eek. I know the cat is around 12 or 15 years old, so keep your fingers crossed for me.
    have a good day everyone.

Good Morning All - HoneyBee - hope DD has a lovely day.

Not been on here for a couple of days - just been rushing about and stuff.

Was meant to chillax yesterday but didn't happen as forgot was taking DD to see Eclipse. She loved it so had a happy 15 year old (for a change) :rotfl:

Today will definately make time for sitting in the garden. Just about to do some ironing, menu planning needs to be done and we have DS' school summer fete to have a quick look round.

Probably will be a barbecue for dinner.

Hope everyone is ok, (((hugs)) if needed. Have a great day all.x

    Morning :hello:
    N9eav, I use Planet Smilies jumping0006.gif

Happy Birthday to HoneyBee's DD :bdaycake:

I had to watch Grey's online, for some reason it didn't record. Anyway, it was fab. Then I HAD to watch next week's episode too, that was even fabber :D

Today we have to pick up some patio slabs (free, YAY!). We have some rubbish to take to the tip but sunday's are busy down there so might leave that til tomorrow evening.

My salad leaves are rubbish this year, they grow just fine but won't grow again when they've been cut. I'll grow one more lot and if they won't work I'll give up. Just found a pack of silverskin onion seeds, must get those sown.

I really want to go to Weston today. I think I'll kick mr tru out of bed and make him drive me down there :D

    Morning all,

Another beautiful day here :T, wm is doing its thing, and I want dd to strip her bed once she is up, don't think I will do ours, as we have been sleeping on top of the quilt with a small cover over us, so will leave that a while.

I cooked some brisket yesterday, so will have some of that cold later on, with bits and bobs, getting fed up with no carbs now :o, but I discovered yesterday that mattersons smoked sausage has no carbs in, and pork scratchings have very little :T. Not sure how much I have lost, I can't find the scales since we moved, but I think its about 6 lb :T

Need to mow the lawn later, or OH does :D, I think dd is seeing her dad, she will have lunch with him, usually a burger, so I won't do her a dinner, she never eats one after she has been out with him, so she can just grab a sandwich for tea.

Might go for a drive out and a walk later on, OH saw 2 badgers the other day, so would like to go and try to see them, its a local festival of speed this weekend, as well as a real ale and jazz event, so the roads round here are chocca all weekend, and best avoided if possible, the festival of speed is £107 for a weekend pass , so we will not be going.

Happy Birthday to miss Honeybee :T

    Have good days all xx

Good morning, everyone. It's another lovely day here - nice and cool at the moment, but there's not a cloud in the sky! And there's a nice wind too. That's a far change from when I looked earlier in the week and it said heavy rain for today. So, I think I'll be taking this opportunity to get more housework done. :P I've got the remainder of the kitchen cupboards to clean and also the net curtains to wash - they'll dry lovely in this weather. I've also got the ironing to do, but I very much doubt I'll do that :D

I think there'll be some sort of prawn stir fry thing for tonight. Not sure if we've got everything we need for it, but hey, it'd be a nice walk to Mr T's anyway. If we do, it'll be mushrooms and peppers - nothing more - unless there's some REAL bargains to be had.

Have a lovely day, everyone. Birthday wishes to Honeybee's DD - hope she has a lovely day. :)

Morning all....................((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.......

Its raining......not much, but......when I woke I heard a car swish by......its beginning to lighten up over the wind farm, so maybe not dull for much longer, its quite cold too although the wind has dropped.

DD1 phoned yesterday they are coming back up with us after our trip to Leicester, they will fly back, she got two flights for £20 each. Looks like the end of September - beginning of Oct is going to be busy.

We had planned to go strawberry picking this morning, will wait and see if it clears up, might go after lunch. Our strawberries are very slow this year, think we moved them at the wrong time. We finished our last jar of strawberry jam from last year yesterday. I might pick some blackcurrants as well, I lurve blackcurrant jam.

Pork for supper, I have a blackcurrant tart in the freezer, think we'll have that for dessert.
