Confused a bit with Best Offer and Counteroffer.

Something I would like to change with making an offer on an item -is that your offer gets picked up atraight away by the seller without coming back to you and checking that you are still in a position to make that offer
when searching larger items cars , vans , caravans , boats etc - you can realistically put in only one of these out of several hundred on offer in case 3 or 4 sellers agree to your offer and you find you are automatically in a deals with all of them at once - which suks for you as well as themAs Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !0 -
I meant because that's the maximum time a BIN/BO listing can run for. So if a buyer made an offer at the start of the listing, which the seller was allowed to accept at any time, then the buyer would be left hanging for a month.
The 48 hour thing though is how long the offer lasts. The buyer doesn't have to hang on for 30 days, only 48 hours after which the offer expires.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. No, as soo already confirmed, offer expires after 48 h. Besides, 30 days? It must be only for business users. Ordinarily 10 days is maximum.
So, it would be good for everyone if ebay changed the rules, as pointed out earlier in this thread.0 -
It's a !!!!!! you can't take the original offer - I had an offer for £150 for an item, pushed for £175 and didn't hear back. I would have taken the £150 after all but as was said, the new offer wiped off the original one.
I actually think very few people really see the Best Offer. I sold a couple of items with a best offer option on them, but the buyers just used buy it now. Not that I'm complaining about the extra cash, but I'd have thought they'd have tried to put in a best offer.
There is a limit of 3 declined offers per buyer per listing.
I can't really see the need for any changes to the current best offer system, something that may extend a listing if someone makes a late offer, so it can be accepted for that one buyer if the listing has closed would be the only one.
One of the better best offer uses is to set for auto-accept or auto decline.
There are probably more 30 day listings on Ebay than any other..0 -

It's in the drop down box when you list direct on ebay. Just select fixed price and you get the option of 30 days for the flat 40p fee.
On Turbolister it is also an option in the drop down box once you have selected fixed price. It does not work for auctions or even auctions with BINs.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
