Have you though for a minute how many people are upset. Take a look at the just under a thousand comments posted here in the last 12 hours

Oh and by the way if you knew what you were talkng about you'd know that the little sun showing on all pretty much the top 150 items shows that they were all listed TODAY.
Wooooaaaaaa hold on a minute... What has it got do do ith anyone being upset?? I myself am completely devastated that he has died.. I am sad that such a wonderful man full of passion for life has been so tragically taken from his family. What I was commenting on was the fact that to know about the items on Ebay, then he must have done a search.(as must you) ... I can honestly say that when I found out about it ..I text my husband..I phoned my Mum...but I did not look on Ebay to see what people had listed. Oh and BTW ...sorry for not knowing that the little sun meant it had been listed today!! God...anyone would think I had listed the items... instead of feeling that it is totally wrong. :mad:I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0 -
Very sad news and he was great and I feel the most for his wife & family and his poor young kids....!"£$%^&*()0

Yes........ There will be people who will try to make some money out of this. You know how the saying goes
Someones misfortune can be someones pleasure.
Well I will join anyone who cares, I am having a Guiness to toast him too and it is strange how I have not worried today about money and the usual stuff.
I have had a lump in my throat everytime I see the news. I suppose when the sun comes up tomorrow I will feel better........ I last felt like this when Lady Di Died.
Maybe it is just the realisation that a great human being is gone and I have been reminded that we are all passing through the same journey.
How his wife will ever get over this ? I just do not know, but at least she has two children from this real life 'hero', who was fearless, gorgeous, exciting, clever and I ask you who wouldnt have liked to have him at your side in a sticky situation ?!! He stood up for his beliefs and those kids are made in his image forever.0 -
All i can say - is this guy, was a true legend, and will never be forgotten!Never do things tomorow when you can do them today.0

Murtle wrote:Just as well people are selling Steve Irwin things then so that you can buy them
I would have if they were advertised before his death but now I don't feel I want to line the pockets of the people wanting to profit out of his death.Murtle wrote:One man's bad taste is anothers good taste :0 -
I somewhat doubt the theory that millions are jumping in to "cash in" on Steve. Yesterday morning, I ran a Google picture search for "Steve Irwin" and it came up with pictures from a toy company selling models of Steve, Terri and allsorts. I doubt that they could have got these into Google's search library in under a week. So I guess that some people were selling these items well before his death, simply because he was popular. If there has been an explosion on ebay, then maybe a few are cashing in.
Do I want a plastic Steve Irwin? No. But there again, I'm not six years old ![ Eat, Drink and be Merry - for tomorrow we get the bill ]0 -

Alanb wrote:It was just announced over 12 hours ago of the man's untimely death and have you seen the amount of items now for sale? I think it's appalling.
I did read one comment a few years ago that upon the death of a celebrity Ebay should ban all listings for a few weeks.
Am I being a prude/killjoy or just wingeing at people making money
i think there are lots of appalling things happening in this world, and tbh this doesn't make my top 100.
like everything else on ebay, no one is forcing people to bid, or to go looking for auctions to find offensive.0 -
I agree with pgilc1.
What kind of person goes looking on eBay to see what's up for sale re: Steve Irwin...then comes on here bleating about how greedy / sick people are.....if they hadn't looked in the first place ( and how weird is that???? ) they wouldn't be so offended / outraged etc etc.
Mikeif i had known then what i know now0
