Oh sea, what a horrid moment that must have been! I hope all is well now!!

Today I had plans to turn off the alarm and have a rare lay in. However, despite not setting the alarm, I was still awake and unable to get back to sleep, so ho hum.

So....plans for today. I need to go and buy DS a birthday present as it is his birthday tomorrow, and sort out a cake etc (courtesy of Mr T I expect!). Football this afternoon then out for dinner this evening with Mum.

First, scratching, banking and mooching on here for a while.

Have a good Saturday everyone x

So many interesting thoughts on fear.

Hypno - I used to work for a Thatch specialist, loved the properties but they were so expensive to maintain, spiders, bugs in thatch, and the ultimate nightmare as you found out - they can fall down :o.

Well, the thatched house we lived in is still standing, and probably will do for another 400 years - it was a 1930's bungalow that became our house from hell.

I have been a little bit productive this morning - not too much, but a load of washing is on, the dishwasher is ready to go, two food cupboards have been decluttered and cleaned (don't worry, gallygirl, the sprouts are still there), and the "tupperware" cupboard under my sink is work in progress. I have matched up the flasks to the lids/cups ready for soups through the winter, have put some stuff for the charity stuff because I just don't use it, and have a pile of tubs without lids and lids without tubs, but of course none of them match up!

Everything will go through the dishwasher before it goes back in the cupboard, so will be less dusty and will be all ready to use again. I am only putting back things I am prepared to take with me when I move house, so a good decluttering exercise.

Just having a coffee, then will go for a soak in the bath I think before finishing off the cupboards, and heading out to the shops for birthday stuff.

does washing them down hte plug kill them?

Only if you use hot water.

Spiders are covered in little hairs, so they trap a layer of air around them in water. This means they float. So if you wash them down, then they can float around in the U-bend and climb back out later...

Change of plans here, just realised how much admin needed for the weeks holiday and coming back here again. So busy booking hotels, insurance etc..

Sea78 - finding the maggots must have been really Yucky.

Hypno - hope DS has a good day tomorrow.

Back to my friends google, tripadvisor, lastminute and rightmove for a while.

Well the tupperware cupboard is sorted, and approximately half the stuff has found its way back in, which I consider a success. Ex-OH will have some of the stuff, and other bits have just gone straight in the bin.

Supermarket has been tackled, and birthday present bought for DS, so I am pretty much up to speed. Going to have coffee then do myself some lunch before heading off to the match. Hopefully the showers will stop - they are pretty heavy when they happen today, and my seat is in one of those areas which WILL get wet should it rain while I am there!

2 loads of washing done, another one in now, and the aim of being up to date with everything by the end of the day.

Hope you are all having a relaxing day x
