I have good news, the nursery DOES have a place for Amber!!! Just a mix up with paperwork (they are moving buildings so it's chaos down there right now) and SAAS student loans have now updated my application (they had the wrong course name) and I should get my award letter within 5 days!!! Woohoo woohoo woohoo!!!

ok... we have realised that part of Kian's problem with eating is that he is getting too much milk. So have decided to cut out a bottle from today. And gradually drop another 1 or 2 as his appetite increases. Might be mad but am trying to stop his over-night bottle at the same time. We have no problems in getting him to sleep but over night (thanks to DH) he always wants a bottle.

So... to drop the bottle i'm going to drop his mid-morning one and offer him a snack instead. fromage frais or some toast. Hope over the next weeks he will start eating more. He's 1 soon and I would like him to be eating a decent amount by then.
On the baby whisperer forum they suggest at night-time diluting the milk more- 4 spoons of milk to 5oz of water and every 3 days reduce the amount of formula so eventually its just water and Kian (hopefully) wont wake just for water. HAs anyone ever tried doing this? Or should we just give him the soother and wait for him to fall asleep that way?

    any suggestions please

    Excellent news Tia :D

I also have some good news: I had four projects outstanding to be completed by the time my contract ends. One has been submitted, one is well under way and the other two I've just sneakily combined into one and that one is getting towards being finished too :j

    Benjamin and Violet won!! :D:D

Yay:j. A bit late I know, but stupid laptop was not playing last night and phone would not connect to 3G, so had to wait until this morning to see the results.

Wishing a very Happy Birthday to Andrew and a lovely day to Tigs and Marley.

Lovely fab photos of Annabel, Henry, Landen, V and Ayana.

Jillie, sorry can't be of any help with the milk at night situation. Alex has all his milk at nighttime, bottle at 6pm, another around 8pm now. And another at some point when he wakes in the night 3/4am. I really, really am too tired to tackle it. The up down, up down to settle him off at night is enough for me to be going on with at the minute. But I will be very interested in hearing your results if you try it.

    Tia & Sugar - Good news :j

Jillie - Can't really offer any more advise, but I just wanted to say that dropping the milk in favour of food does make sense to me. From around 8 months Liam only had a morning and bedtime milk, and the fussy booger won't have milk during the day, only water. How many feeds is Kian having?

ETA: I forgot to post, what I can on for, doh!

he has 5 or 6 bottles. 5 oz per bottle. i realised its my fault as when he doesnt eat i give him a bottle. so he's depending on it.

should have done this ages ago :( and we prob wouldnt be in this situation now. when he's at nursery he eats and drinks very little. so i know he can do it...he knows i'm a pushover lol!
