Becles - how's your fur baby doing? Did you stick with the lampshade!

I took it off after 5 days and just told him off everytime he licked it! It's dried up nicely now. I was supposed to keep him on the lead this week too, but he had too much pent up energy. He was repeatidly running up and down the stairs and doing a laps of the sitting room using the coffee table as a hurdle! I decided there was less chance of injury letting him run round on a grass field, so I've just been letting him off.

I have a silly question - to the mums of girls, what did you dress your daughters in while they were little? Did you/Do you put them into dresses, and if so at what age?

I just kept her in sleepsuits until she got mobile, then jogging bottoms in the house. Dresses are too hard to crawl in! I did like putting her in little dresses and cute girly stuff when we went out though.

Here is Charlotte at a month old when she went to James First Holy Communion. It's a very special dress as I used to wear it :D

Sami - No, not stuck for clothes, in fact she probably has more than me!!!

I had the HV first visit today and we were discussing how I was feeling etc.... being tearful/miserable/anxious/guilty. Anyway as we were talking it became apparant to both of us that I am struggling to come to terms with having a girl!! Everyone elses stupid comments and reactions haven't helped either, anyway not to dwell on it, but she said to give it till next week and if I am still as tearful etc then to speak to docs....

I asked about the dress thing as she asked me whether I have put a dress on her yet, I can't bring myself to, I find it hard to not see her as a boy and even spent thr first 4 days calling her a him/he!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ETA - I am slowly getting used to it, but it may take a llttle while....

Doh the mse facebook list is broken so I can't do any face studying!

Som - was it you who asked me to report back on whether medela mini was any good? Well I'm very impressed. Just got 120 ml during a 20m minute (10 on each side) expressing session. I followed some of the advice I've read like putting warm flannel on bbs 1st which I think really helped. I'd have been going for an hour on my hand pump to get that! It's much less painful than the tommy tippee hand pump as well.
ETA thanks to everyone who reccommended it to me :)
