Nice GP actually. Being female may have been useful. Lucy certainly found it helpful.ManOnTheMoon wrote: »Thanks all. Much appreciated.
We have all talked and we will start to get things, bit by bit. It may be a bad omen, but Lucy doesn't believe in them.
Any suggestions on where we should start would be appreciated. I'm guessing as long as we have it all by the birth...
Lucy will need different clothes....
Yaywhen I had my initial GP appointment the GP I spoke to was about 2 weeks ahead of me, so we were comparing notes :rotfl:.
I got a list of things to buy from Toys R Us I think. Just beware that a lot of things they list are really not completely necessary.
Major things to start comparing/thinking about now would be furniture (crib/moses basket if wanted, + cot), buggy, car seat, sling. One bit of advice one of my friends gave me was to try out buggy soonish (even if you don't buy just yet) as you walk differently when you are more pregnant.
Other than that you need to think about what you are planning re nappies (disposables - do you want a nappy wrapper, or if you are going for reusables then a big bucket and whatever else you need for them?) and feeding (ie do you need to worry about sterilisers and bottles?
And bedding, clothes etc you might want to wait till you find out what you're having (you did say you were going to find out didn't you?)Alice doesn't ask because she knows I'll say no - she just helps herself and then tells me afterwards that she's done it.

I'm not required for jury service for the rest of the week now - just have to phone up Friday to check if they want me Monday. All the cases I was meant to be on they pleaded guilty. So tomorrow will be swimming and housework, and Friday we are going to follow the mini-bus from the surestart centre to the pick your own, and tag along with their trip. I bet Izzy will come home twice as heavy as when we get there - she loves picking things at the allotment :rotfl:.Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

Clever Benjamin, now he needs to learn to fill it up, only joking. X. I love it when they learn new things, but that excludes learning how to pile cushions on the floor to climb on the sofa, or use the remote to change channels, she's 1 not 3!!!
Aw bless her! They just suddenly start getting into everything one they are walking don't they!
Benjamin does get the carton of milk out of the fridge when he wants some
....and fromage frais, and veg, and jelly, and strawberries, and whatever else is in there that he fancies.
And tonight he put a pot of grapes and a pot of satsumas that he didn't want back into the fridge so I would stop trying to feed them to him :rotfl::rotfl:

Sami I know I'm not JM but where did you get the leaflet from? Just we're not a million miles away, also my CM would be interested in taking all the children.
Also if it's not too much trouble what's the name of the play place near the tesco's? I do my weekly shopping there every week and have never seen anything :rotfl:Mummy to D born 21/04/09 and S born 09/05/120 -

Hiya Dora - how is the gorgeous Daniel?
Did you see my post a few weeks ago about CMs being able to claim money back for milk? They can claim 1/3 pint of milk a day for every child under 5 that they look after for over 2 hours.
They can either get money or get milk delivered.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Any tips gratefully recieved
Don't know if anyone has answered this yet as I'm still catching up. The thing to do is make sure their airway is clear and their head isn't on the chest then just head out for a walk. Erin would always winge when first put in a sling in the early days but would settle as soon as I got out the door, she loves it now and gets excited when I get the sling out.Mum to DD born Oct 2009
