Mobile Outlet Cashback address?
Hello all,
I "purchased" a K750i on Orange Canary £30/month from The Mobile Outlet and this month I am due to send in my first four bills for cashback.
What I cannot seem to find though is the correct address to send the bills to?
I was somewhat confused as the phone arrived with all documentation from a firm called "Vanilla Mobile," not Mobile outlet & with no obvious address to send my bills to. I suppose they may do this on purpose??
I would hate to lose the £120 for the sake of an incorrect address!
regards,
bobi22
ps: keep up the good work!

From my records:
The Mobile Outlet
Suite 3 - 4
Riverdale House
Dockfield Road
Shipley
BD17 7AD
The Vanilla Mobile thing isn't anything to be worried about. It is common for small independent online retailers to use Vanilla Mobile for Orange packages in particular.
Vanilla are owned by E2Save (read: Carphone Warehouse). They are effectively a white-label distribution outfit that retailers use to fulfill their orders for them - it allows E2Save/CPW to increase their own throughput with the networks and hence negotiate bigger commissions. From these commissions, they pay the retailer their cut, which the retailer then uses to finance their cashback offer.
However, the cashback is an arrangement that is purely between yourself as the customer and The Mobile Outlet and it is them who you should be dealing with on this matter, not Vanilla.

btw, as i've dealed with mobileoutlet, they are kinda of nasty company who tries everything not to pay the cashback, make sure you send your bills by recorded mail/special delivery and also keep a copy.and read the terms and conditions very careful. especially take care of word like "each",as a lot of people fell for the old terms and conditions tricks....anyway, good luck.0

I must agree that you need to be very careful with The Mobile Outlet Cashback deals. I submitted my request for a 6-month cashback cheque, in accordance with my terms & conditions, and they sent a letter back rejecting my claim because I had not includfed the original dispatch note. They mentioned this requirement in their original covering letter, but not in their terms & conditions. I sent them a letter to this effect, telling them that I intended to submit my claim to the online service of the Small Claims Court (https://www..moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp) if I heard nothing within a week. Suffice to say no response was forthcoming, so I submitted the claim online, which cost £30.00 on the Friday.
The following Tuesday, I had a cheque for the full amount of the cashback, plus my £30 costs, delivered by recorded mail. I waited until the cheque cleared, then cancelled the claim.
The sad thing is that my friend took out the same deal a week after me - and I've had to do exactly the same for him [he doesn't have online access].
You'd think it wouyld stop there, wouldn't you? But my other half was due her 12-month cashback - which is now 35 days late. Mobile Outlet said the check was posted last week - but it still hasn't arrived. Why do I feel as though I'll be visiting the online Small Claims service for the 3rd time this weekend?
It is so narrow-minded of the retailer, simply because of the loss of repeat business. What is even more sad is that it is costing them an extra £30 each time someone goes to the small claims court.
If my experience had been a one-off I'd have probably put it down to a bad experience - but 3 cases in such a short space of time suggests that there are problems afoot. I'd avoid The Mobile Outlet like the plague.0 -
I wish i had read this before getting my phone, MO certainly make it hard to follow their ridiculous claims process. I noticed that if I miss one of my cashback claims, then the rest are then void!
I am just about to submit my 1st claim, fingers crossed!!Play Lacrosse0
