When i taught full time, we would often be in school for training a day or 2 before the children.
We often used to answer the door to 5 or 6 red faced parents who had cottoned on to their error after ringing the doorbell:oWho made hogs and dogs and frogs?

LOL! Well thanks for all the replies, so happy to hear I'm not the only one! :rotfl:"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0

It's not just the parents one of the TA's at my school hadn't realised we'd gone back on Monday and was in the Trafford Centre when we phoned to see why she wasn't in work. Admittedly in the caos of first day and new timetables we hadn't missed her until break and the staff meeting!!!0

School I work in ALWAYS has a training day on the first day and ALWAYS has just the new year 7's on on the second day. So why do we ALWAYS see kids arrive on these days!!!The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0

Wish I had that problem. My daughter doesn't start her new school until 18th September. She'll be going into Reception. Apparently the late start date will be better for her, although all the other children she went to nursery with have managed to start elsewhere this week without obvious ill effect. Not great for me either. I used my holiday entitlement in the summer when all three kids were off school and at the moment I'm paying about £30 a day to get her looked after until the school think it's time for her to start. Poor thing is desperate to go too.0

Awww! My 4 year old is starting late september, and won't be going full time till mid October.
They have changed schools, so she is not all that impressed actually! Tomorrow we are meeting her new teacher and she keeps say "I don't want a new teacher, I want my old teacher" Bless them, eh!"I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -
I only found out on the last week they were returning a day later than I thought, when the teachers came into the car park on Monday (which I can see from my house) I paniced thinking someone else was wrong and I was right and phoned them, teacher training day of course. One day I might be more organised...........
