*Daughter all dressed up and no where to go! No school today*

 :rotfl: I've done it again! I don't know what is wrong with me, and I thought I was being so efficient!

So we go over to spar quickly cos I forgot drinks for her packed lunch, when the guy says "oh, it's a bit early for school isn't it? don't they start back tomorrow or Wednesday?" to which I reply "Oh no, it's definitely today" So he just shrugs and says I'd better call.

So I call the school, and what do you know? They start tomorrow!! :rotfl: Oh well, at least we didn't get all the way there!

Off to work now.

Still, better that than doing what I did a few years ago when I took the children to school a day late because I'd looked at the previous year's school term dates. It also made me a day late back to work that I had to make up!!

I remember when I was a lot younger, one morning I woke up at 8:30, panicked. Got dressed really quickly and ran to school.

Got there and unusually the back door was locked so I ran to the main doors. That was locked too. Then I noticed that there was no-one in the classrooms. I looked at my watch and it was just past 8am. When I woke up, the clock must have said 7:30am and in my sleepy daze I had misread it!

We were very close to packing DS1 off to school this morning. If he hadn't rung his mate to arrange where to meet, he'd be there TWO days early (D'Oh!)

The same thing happened to me when I was at school. I waited at the bus stop and the school bus never turned up.

I am SO pleased I'm not the only one this has happened too. A neighbours dd knocked last night to ask my dd when they went back to school and I was pretty certain it was Tuesday. I phoned a friend about something else later on and asked her, to be told they don't go back till Wednesday :o

    It's a good job I checked LOL

LOL I've done this so many times that I now have a double system. The notes from the school get put on a pinboard in the hall and the date gets written straight on a calendar on the opposite wall. The mummy brain means if it isn't written down it gets forgotten.
