To all Drinkers on holiday especially the young ones

Holiday time upon you all once again. Please be careful when in clubs and pubs. My son has just spent a night at a hospital bedside in Marbella as his partners drink was spiked on a night out. She was drugged with a date rape drug and was unnconcious for 2 hours.
Please try to remember not to leave drinks unattended or accept drinks from anyone you don't know. Luckily she has come round now and very scared about what happened. They are in there mid 20s and they dont know how it happened.Could have been at the bar or when their drinks were on the table. But it did. Enjoy your holiday but please be careful especially teenage girls

Not to be cynical, but many of these "the drink was spiked" stories are actually the result of taking drugs knowingly. Young Brits are well known to go wild in Spain - so while it is a very good idea to never leave a drink unattended, it's nowhere near as rife as it's made out to be.

There is a huge difference between taking drugs and getting huigh and having your drinks spiked ..and yes it happens and not just in Spain but in your very own Poland there are plenty of similar stories ... shock horror !
Youg Poles are also known to go wild in the Britain so you can quit all that load of krap

Who is going to take a date rape drug which paralyses you rendering you unconsious on purpose. This is a different thing from recreational drugs taken on purpose.

Actually it is rife there .This is the 4th time in 2 weeks this has happened there and not to young teenagers on a bender. They live and work nearby and had taken a friend who was visiting out for a meal. They only had 1 glass of wine with their meal.

They finished there meal and went to the bar. My son went to the toilet and his partner and friend went to the bar to order drinks and it was at the bar the drink was spiked by a Pakistani guy standing next to them. The bar has cctv footage of what happened and now know who they are looking for.

When my sons partner collapsed they knew exactly what had happened with the condition she was in. She was lucky she had only 1 drink and a couple of sips from the one at the bar and the effects were horrendous hate to think the effects on someone with a lot of alchohol. So you dont have to be a teenager and drunk on a wild night out. It can happen anytime.

It says so in the Daily Mail so it must be true.

The science in the Daily Mail article is sound and correct.

Perhaps the real warning should be for women to monitor their alcohol intake carefully.

so if a woman drinks too much it's her own fault if someone spikes her drink? bit of a slippery slope there I think
