The company are linked to a charity: "The People Tree Foundation is an independent charity, working alongside People Tree the Fair Trade Company."
Therefore any money made by People Tree is used to help communities in need.0 -

So I have a box I have spent just under £40 on (including postage). I don't want any of it, can't get the money back on ebay cos it is all low price stuff. Thinking about it I don't want to risk another box, especially if it costs me another £4.50 in postage.
Legally, am I entitled to a refund for the box and the original postage, the box and both postages, the box and my postage back, or just the box?
Anyway, I posted mine back this morning (cost £4.50 first class), and on the return slip I put £39.40 as the amount that I wanted refunded. So I'm just hoping they will give me that amount back.
At best I've lost £4.50, at worst £9.0 -
"Legally, am I entitled to a refund for the box and the original postage, the box and both postages, the box and my postage back, or just the box?"
People Tree's website and MSE' advert for Goody Bags both say:
"Goody bags are non-refundable. An exchange will be given only if the product is returned in full with all it's original items, no exchange will be given on any single product returned."
Ignore that. It is unenforceable since you have statutory rights to return items like this bought online if you tell the retailer in writing within 7 days of recepit that you want to return the item for a full refund. You are responsible for the cost of return postage but should be refunded your full original cost. So, out of pocket by the cost of return postage only.
There is a freepost address on People Tree's website but I don't think this is for returns so it would be unfair to use it in my view.
I have assumed this is about returning a Goody Bag will all items.0 -

I had a goody bag a couple of months ago. Nothing in it I would wear day or night. But I had taken a gamble that I might get some good stuff and to carp that it didn't work out is a bit harsh. Fair enough if you don't get the number of items stipulated, or that the sizing is wrong. But if you just don't like it that is what the notion of 'goody bag' means, it's random. You took a bet that you might get something worth more than £30 to you. But it stands to reason than someone will get a bag full of stuff they loathe for everyone that gets a bag full of stuff they love. If you want to choose, take your £30 to Primark or TK Makk and you'll know what you're getting.0

It is fair play, I agree and in future I'll just get people tree stuff from ebay. I was lured into it because of the posts of people getting really good things, I had hopes of something really nice. Also, everyone had been saying that the sizes were big but the 10 was too small on me so even as basics they are useless to me. And the dress thing really is the dregs :-)0

According to the picture, yep I did in fact buy it off you!
Thanks for that! My boyfriend actually pointed out that with the size of the cowl, I can actually move it all to the back and wear it as a hood. It looks quite boho when you do that0 -
I have just purchased 2 goody bags from People Tree. People Tree items are quality. Martin states that delivery is free for over £70 but, in fact, there is an offer running online which means that it is free for orders valued over £50. Also Discount Vouchers website is running current discount codes and if you type in MYXMAS, at checkout,:rotfl: you can also get a further 20% off your order, meaning that 2 bags cost me £56 instead of £70 and with free delivery.:money:keep up, Martin.0
