I too can book another slot on friday if i like it shows on our original email inviting us to our vip slot. I wont be as to be honest even though i had my slot at 9pm i found alot of stuff had already gone out of stock and only got 50% of my order.
Make £200 by end of January... £20.42/£200
Grocery Challenge £200 pm Jan £0/£200
January no spend days - 1/310 -
I have had an account with Next for years and have never received a VIP slot. Maybe, i'm just very very unlucky!
You have got the little box ticked on your account, that says somthing about recieiving info about the next sale?
Also do you get a directory, there seems to be a general agreement that people getting the slots also got the directory??0 -
The VIPs are random and so just because people meet the criteria doesn't mean you automatically get one. I don't have a VIP slot but don't mind as i used to work for Next and so got some really good bargains in the past. The best stock always gets snapped up by staff before the sale starts. Although i do think the Next sale is a great one i don't get obsessed over it. The hype is created by the store with VIP allocation, preview lists and early opening. It gets people so exited so that they will spend more. I also don't agree that the baby clothes are cheaper in the Next sale than they usually are in ASDA although they may be better quality. After working in the store i believe people go completely OTT in the sale. The will spend hundreds but return over half the stock, its like they are worried they are going to miss out. If Next had a returns policy like a lot of other shops (sale items only returned if faulty) then maybe people would only buy what they actually want and would not be so greedy.
I dont believe they are truly random though, its strange how some people get them every sale near enough and others never get one! Also agree with the bolded, its ridiculous how long the queues are for the returns desk the day after sales! theres only 1 thing i really want though, the rest ive seen im not too bothered if theres none left by sat, like you say i'll just stock up at asda or sainsburys instead,0 -
Yes, it's ticked and yes, I get a directory. Unlucky or what?0

I placed 2 orders last night and was lucky to have the 7pm slot so managed to get all but 1 item that I wanted. I e-mailed them last night to see if I could only be charged for one P & P, they have replied this morning saying that they would no problem.
I have also booked another slot for Friday which I am doing for 2 of my friends orders who didn't get VIP slots, although don't expect for there to be much left.
I have to say that it all went rather smoothly for me and I am very pleased with what I have ordered, there is still a lot left so good luck for everyone else still to shop.0 -
I placed my order last night in my correct time scale and half of my order has been at the reduced price and the other half at the full price.
I spoke to customer services and she said that the full price ones will have to be sent back to them and rebooked if available at a later date (if still in stock) and I told her I had not order at the wrong time which is what she told me I had done and to close my account. Having thought about this I then called back and said that I did not order wrong and how could half my order be right and half be wrong and the nice new customer service lady said to accept the order then call them and they will reduce the prices to sale prices.
Next are needing to change some of their customer services staff.0 -
I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but the items that are in the Next stores are usually marked on the back of the swing price tag in pencil if they will be going in the sale a couple of days before. Therefore if there is something in particular you want, you can tell if it will be reduced!0

I've decided to give up on this sale this time. All the stuff i really wanted has gone. Ah well. not getting VIP saved me a fortune. better luck next time.0

Just wanted to add for those of you who didn't get VIP, I'm sure there will be a lot of returns later so you could still get what you wanted0
