Well fresh from leaving my note out last night, my pinta appeared as normal this morning in a glass bottle but its Organic - I am so chuffed. All I needed to do was ask! Thanks everyone.

I am going to see if there is a milkman in our area - not seen one and I am around most of the day - maybe they come really early? I guess I will just have to snoop for empty bottles.

On Dairy Crest's website you can put your postcode in and it searches for a dairy near you.

I may be wrong, but I suspect your cardboard cartons are plasticised and cannot be recycled.

Cardboard alone cannot hold liquids, unfortunately.
The cartons from Morrisons are waxed ;) and can be recycled where the local authority can be !!!!d to offer the facility :)

Just wanted to say well done for going that little bit further to be green and organic at the same time- :A

I've always found organic milk went off quicker, so buy less but more often. To have it delivered though- I hope the milkperson is in a electric float instead of like round our way where they use old pick up type lorries:mad:

CrazyChemist - I looked into this when the thread first started - the only company I could find advertising thier prices was a local company called Kirby & West - they want 55p per pint for Organic. I'd assume most dairies are the same.

For us unfortunately, that is too high a price - we go through at least 6 pints a day, so until the supermarkets start using glass bottles, I'll have to will stick to buying my organic milk in plastic bottles from the normal shops.

    :)
