Timing's a mixture of objective conditions and personal circumstances, of course (as I think I've pretty much always said!) And our personal circumstances mean that shortly is looking good.

I can't comment on the position in general, but in our neck of the woods, there is a lot more interesting stuff coming on to the market, and not shifting fast.

That's good to hear, I had thought many good london properties were being snapped up by wealthy foreigners taking advantage in the fall of the pound (admitedly sterling's recovered somewhat).

Good luck with the house hunting NDG. What type of property are you looking for?

The market round here (Bloomsbury and surrounds) seems much quieter than 6 months ago.

    We're looking for a 4 bed, or 3 bed 2 reception, flat.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

Fergus Wilson, the knowledgeable BTL King says poor people live in flats. Just think, if you'd worked hard you'd be able to afford a house! :P

If we had 3 million down the back of our sofa, we might well buy a house.

Interesting. A lot in your position (good earners + little one) may well decide that a house with garden is worth the cost and time in commuting.

We don't want to move further out - personal choice, each to his own.

In our chunk of Camden, that doesn't reflect the market as it stands.
