How's it going, NDG? How's your little one? My little one turned 4 last week - on his way to becoming a medium-sized one, or at least a slightly less little one. :)

I think if the time is right for you to buy you could have bought any time from the beginning of 2009 all the way through to the next 5 years and beyond. There are hundred's of thousand's of houses out there for sale, many that are lower in price than they were 12 months ago.

The uptick since the 'supposed' bottom of the market that we see on the graphs isn't representative of a normal market. We can see this when looking on Rightmove with PB, pretty much every house that has been on their for a while shows a drop in price.
i don't even think you even believe this yourself... you must have one hell of a big search that shows you all UK property... :)

but anyway this isn't this one of those threads - it's one of those i miss NDG threads - yawn.... :)

He's great, thanks. 5th birthday a fortnight ago, and started school after Christmas and is loving it. He does look like an NSPCC poster child at the moment, though - a crash in the playground with another child, and he has a huge black eye and dented forehead.

Timing's a mixture of objective conditions and personal circumstances, of course (as I think I've pretty much always said!) And our personal circumstances mean that shortly is looking good.

I can't comment on the position in general, but in our neck of the woods, there is a lot more interesting stuff coming on to the market, and not shifting fast.
