We were told today that there would be no more work for us after the end of this week!!!!!!!:( So gutted cos I love my job and my colleagues.

Sorry to hear your news, Greenqueen
As for those of you who feel strange meeting people you barely speak to on here, we had a Glasgow meet the other day, and a few of us had never spoken before we "met" on the meet thread, and it was absolutely fine.
I am definitely up for coming, are we pinning down a date then? It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -
I've been thinking about what we could do. Does anyone have any ideas, or anything they'd like to do?
Here are some of mine. They're all free unless you want to buy anything! I won't be offended if you all reject them :rotfl:
A wander around the Northern Quarter - Afflecks Palace (might be too full of disenchanted grungy young things lol but has a lovely bead shop), various vintage shops, Abakhan Fabrics, Oxfam. A cup of tea at Cafe Pop (it's downstairs though, not sure there's a lift). Or at Cafe Nexus.
A visit to Poundland in the Arndale Centre, and Quality Save on Piccadilly bus station :rotfl::rotfl:
People's History Museum http://www.phm.org.uk/
John Ryland's library on Deansgate http://www.library.manchester.ac.uk/specialcollections/ It's supposed to be a gorgeous building.
Do any of these sound interesting, or has anyone any other ideas? I've never been to the People's History Museum or the JR Library (the shame of it!).
Or we could go round Selfridge's and Harvey Nichols and say,"How much for that overpriced tat!!" until security chuck us out :rotfl:
Over to you, people!Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Is Cafe Pop the one in the downstairs bit of Pop Boutique? I love it there, the owner is so nice. Last time we went in he was taking a load of grief from some lads who were miffed it's a vegetarian cafe. "just have a cup of tea and chill out" finally won them over. Who wouldn't want to visit a place where you can get a banana butty and hot vimto?0 -

Buggalugs I love abakhan and fred aldous but the idea is to be money savers and I find my purse opens of its own accord in these shops:rotfl:
Alec Eiffel, yes that's the one. It looks a bit rough and ready but you can get tea IN A MUG, none of this little weeny cups jobby. I like it cos it's chilled out. But it depends if anyone has mobility issues, because I'm not sure if there is a lift.
I guess we could look online for any Starbucks vouchers and go en masse to Starbucks to claim a free drink!Aspire not to have more but to be more.

I saw someone walking a ferret along Blackpool prom last weekend, cute as a button! I can't picture a lift in Pop but I had been at the Christmas market last time we were in there so my memory may be a tad skewed due to the mulled wine.0
