Landlords' property insurance

I Use HFIS and have just had (unfortunately) a large claim settled by them with a minimum of fuss & bother. They instructed a loss adjuster to attend the same day I reported the loss, he was very fair & reasonable. I do get a discount with them throught the District Landlord Association I am a member of, also Alan Boswell's are used by a number of Landlords I know.0

Give Endsleigh a call 01763 222030... have been with them a couple of years.
They also have a website... have not had to claim so cant vouch for level of service.
Good Luck0 -
Thanks again for all the suggestions. I've already been with Norwich Union more than once and have found them (belatedly) to be expensive.
This time they've definitely quoted me unhappy.
I'll be checking out the others.0 -
If you are 50 and over you should try https://www.saga.co.uk.
We rent a house out and decided to only insure the building rather than the contents. Apparently you can choose contents cover up to £50,000
I think Saga only started this type or insurance (for rented out property) as from last year.
Anyway we have the building insured for the ANNUAL premium of £82 (excess £100 and £1000 for subsidence damage)) and with a rebuild value of £500,000.
We did not choose the "accidental damage" option either.
And malicious damage caused by a tenant is not covered.
Worth a phone call on 0800 015 4752
I hope this helps someoneEvery penny is a prisoner.......0 -

Just shows how desperate Saga must be to secure more household business - they are set up and dedicated to offer competitive insurance (etc) to the over 50's - how can they do this if they are offering insurance to the over 50's landlords who presumably rent their houses to the under 50's - well done Saga, never fail to amuse !!0 -
I'll give 'em a call, thanks.0

Losgiganteskid ..are you UNDER 50?
Do I detect jealously in your words??? smiles...
I feel we are all paying far too much for ALL insurances.
I am pleased Saga has taken the initiative.

Hi Clare,thanks for the link.
I am looking for insurance for a property I wish to rent out in the UK,but I can only find rental insurance for overseas property.
Is yours overseas or am i missing something?

I did one a few months ago with Barclays - to my amazement they were almost as cheap as the renewal from my other company, but as done through quidco should be getting £55 back (although have had to query as hasn't been tracked:mad: ).
The other companies I use are: Folgate Insurance taken out with Swintons 01502 562036 (quote via a website, sorry, can't remember which one) and household insurance services arranged via www.landlords-insurance.com. I had to make a claim with the latter & they were great.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Hello Annie
I live in the Northern Ireland and the house we rent out is only a short distance from our main residence.
Do ring Saga.....they may well be able to help you.
Kind regards
