I'd imagine the only treatment you'd get is essential treatment - nothing cosmetic that you wish to have on your own accord.
And to clarify things, the HC1 form is for people on low incomes, as they assess only the persons individual (ie the students) income, not the household/family etc.0 -
i'm at an NHS dentist and i'm 22, full time student, full time worker and i havnt been charged for anything but my check up (about £12)0

My partner who is a full time mature student with a 16 hour per week job (not great wages), filled in an HC1 form. He was unfortunatly expected to pay the full amount on any treatment, be it dentist, optician or GP.
I believe when he telephoned, he was told by the customer service that he should've filled in any travel costs ect and he may have qualified for help.0 -

Especially if you go out with one of the students there!
How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Our dentalists seem a little too geeky

Toothsmith or should it be Zapp? Every time I see your smiley avatar I laugh as me and my youngest DD love Futurama. She's far too young to be watching it but I just ignore her when she asks what I'm laughing at, lol.
Leela: "You know Zapp, someone ought to teach you a lesson."
Zapp: "If it's a lesson in love, watch out! I suffer from a very sexy learning disability. What do I call it, Kif?"
Kif: *sigh* "Sexlexia."
Absolute classic.
I think I'll give myself a Dr. Zoidberg or Prof. Farnsworth avatar - which do you think - Farnsworth has no teeth so maybe that's appropriate for a dental student? lol.0 -
I have seen Futurama, and I knew my Avatar was Zapp but I'm afraid I don't really know him or watch it often. Sounds like my kind of guy though!!!!!
He just looks a bit like me when I was a student!!!! My sister was a trainee hairdresser, and I was often very blonde! How to find a dentist.
