Why is my bluetooth headset so quiet?

Just bought myself a Motorola V3 + bluetooth headset.

Althought the bluetooth was childsplay to set up I can hardly hear people talking through it and when I'm in the car driving I have to stop as the road noise is too loud which defeats the object dont you think. I've tried turning it up via the up and down buttons on the headset and the phone it's self is on max volume. So is there anything else I can do or is all the hype about bluetooth just a gimmick?

Also if anyone knows of any mobile phone chat forums I'd like to hear em.

The sound through the headset should be loud enough to hear the caller clearly whilst driviing.

I've got a couple of Jabra bluetooth headsets (200 and 300) and the volume is fine.

Is there perhaps a volume setting for handsfree/headset on the phone itself?
