Shortest school hols I've known this year. Break up 23rd July go back 2nd September.
The school where I work is the same.

My DD's school breaks up 16th July and goes back 2nd September, DS2's new school (he goes in September) breaks up on 9th July! They start back on 1st September.

We're all in the same county and even the same city - I can't understand why there's such a difference.

Mine finish on the 9th July and go back on about the 9th September, we are in Wales but not sure if the state schools in Wales break up the same time as mine do.

Ours break up 26th July. The original school calendar said 23rd but they've added an extra day to make up for the snow week in January. Glad I booked my holiday to start 25th. No-one wants to send them in for one day dirtying a uniform just for the Monday. Pfft.

And they go back on 6th Septemebr but we have Parent/Teacher meetings on 3rd September which the children have to attend or its classed as an absence. And its only a 5 minute appointment.

They're only children! What a horrible attitude about not wanting to be around kids. It is attitudes like this which make this country so child unfriendly!
