Don't ask here go ask them, try such as motorpoin too for imports.

Brand new? why? go 2nd hand then any dealer sells them.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Buying it cars online with Drive The Deal isn't really buying it online. You register to purchase with DTD, the dealer gives you a call and takes £500 deposit, and thereafter all your dealings are with a franchised UK main dealer and not DTD (DTD will eventually be paid a referral fee by the dealer but that isn't your concern and between them). Then the dealer will deliver to your door or your can choose to collect in person.

Look on the Whatcar web site. Look up the particular new car you are interested in and pick the exact model. The web site will confirm the RRP and the target price which is the price you should aim to pay. Whatcar even provide a phone number to ring if you can't get a good price from your local dealer, they will try and give you details of a dealer who will motch their Target price.

In the latest Whatcar Magazine it gives the target price for the cheapest Yaris at £9399 compared to a list price of £10245 so you should aim for at least an 8% discount

No, my brother is sales manager at a Toyota dealership.... A lot of people have been going in recently thinking they can get big discounts and saying things like "you know how Toyota have had bad press lately, what discounts are they offering?" or "you know how the motor trade is stuggling..... (guess the rest)"
These people have been laughed out of the showroom.

And then gone on to buy cheaper elsewhere.
    Good sales technique.
  • Hi Divadee,

I bought a new 5 door diesel Yaris back in May and expected to be able to haggle due to the poor publicity which Toyota had. However, like someone else on here has commented, the salesman told me that business had still been brisk. At the time of buying my car, Toyota were offering 3 years free servicing or 5 years free warranty and used this as a major selling point. I tried to get some free accessories thrown in but they would not even throw in some free mats! However, I'm only paying £171 per month now for my car and don't have to worry about the cost of servicing over 3 years so I'm still laughing.

Do you really think they would tell you otherwise?

How much you can haggle depends on whether you are ready to walk away from the showroom. The moment they realize you like the car, they simply won't budge!

I recently went to Kia showroom to buy a car as my car was written off. They didn't reduce a penny from the screen price of 3 cars which I liked(I could have bought any one of them). Their attitude was take it or leave it.

I then bought the car from another Kia dealer [who gave me 10% discount on similar screen price].

After 3 weeks, I see on first dealer's site that they reduced the screen price of all those 3 cars by £300! :D
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

Well I went onto DTD and quoted for a 1.33 TR 5 door MMT Yaris with Metallic Paint £13,420 list price. DTD are listing it as £10,950, a saving of nearly £2.5k. That includes, 12 months road tax, 5 year warranty and free delivery anywhere in the UK

I used carfile.net to buy my Mazda for a £4k saving and the only downside was having to collect the car from 200 miles away.

thats the exact one we are after but my mum still wont buy online. she says she is willing to pay a little more for a local dealer, the problem we have is she wants to part ex, she is scared of selling privately (my dad passed away in april and shes nervy about people coming round etc..)

I just know that if i go in and ask for nearly 2.5k off they will laugh in my face :D lol. i would be buying it from DTD if it was me

Have you considered the Skoda Fabia. Skoda are currently offering a discount equivalent to the VAT so the 1.2TSI 105bhp Fabia hatchback with the 7 speed DSG auto gearbox (fantastic combination) with SE spec (aircon etc) is only approx £10,900 witout having to haggle
