Thomas Exchange Global - Beware
Comments
-
Seems with Donnie that he likes being ambiguous - I suspect that he is vague, because he doesn't know half of the time.
Very difficult one this - I think there is the question of when the government announced (not made) the change. I would like to think that the company could have looked at the records (surely they must keep records for 8 days) and emailed those who bought the scrapped currency (I certainly wouldn't mind if I had bought it if they emailed me say 12 months later, even if I had spent it). Something along the lines of "Dear customer, our records show that you purchased XXXXXXX currency in the last 12 months - we are writing to all clients falling into this category to notify them that the XXXXXX government has changed the currency - please contact .... for advice".
I can however see how (provided the changeover was not announced in advance of the purchase date) that the company has done more than could be expected.
EDIT: Just had a good look (probably half an hour) & managed to find that the new notes were announced in AUGUST 2009!!! They were due to be unusable from 1st Jan - 31st March was an extension! Very bad - totally agree that the exchange should have known & shouldn't have sold the notes - I would have been angry to be sold them last November! http://www.bankofbotswana.bw/assets/uploaded/new-pula-notes-launch.pdfCertain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0 -

Told you that you were an idiot.
If you "don't 'think that I know..." why is it that you were asking me for advice just yesterday after I spent the days before educating you?
I expect that you were a little hurt that I didn't have the time for answering your banal questions.
Therein lies the rub. I simply don't have the time to help everyone.
Some things you'll have to figure out for yourselves. Now run along and play, children.0 -
I've said thanks for that post Donnie - thanks that is for proving that you're a hot air blowing troll, who doesn't know as much as he lets on & runs off when rumbled, after trying to lay down a covering fire of patronising rubbish!
And to think I respected you - at least I only took a few days to see through the provado.Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0 -

I'm sorry that i didn't have more time for you. It was too boring. You seemed to recommend a 'my cash' card in another thread - for use in europe (or rather Euro-land), how is it any better that the FFA? Genuine question.
Next, do you know how FF/Caxton/Rational/any other Euro card seller sets their rate i.e is FF MC rate - 1.5%, is Caxton purely random relative to MC rate?
You need to keep in mind that I do not work for any of these companies, so if I choose to use my time to formulate a reply for you, it is my prerogative.
I simply don't like you enough to do so.
The links that I posted contain all the infomation that you need.
Off the top of my head, the myTravel Global card has an extra cash withdrawal charge. But the quick delivery and extra card may be a boon for some.
There are thousands of people asking questions every day. This is not the only forum where I assist others. Plus I have a home life. So I get the luxury of choosing who I help.
You are now firmily in the 'idiot wasting my time' box.
As to whether you formerly respected me is of no interest to me. I am not the one asking you for assistance.
Maybe if you were a little more polite.... remember that your very first post to me included a 'jibe'.
So...I've posted the relevant links. Run along and compare them for yourself.0 -
Perhaps if you actually knew the answers you would mysteriously find some time to answer, be less rude, etc.
My jibe you refer to was a quote of something you said - an attempt to help you to see how rude you come across at times - obviously a waste of time.
I am more than capable of finding the answers, further, I will be happy to share with everyone when I do - basic kindness & the spirit of this site - unfortunately I don't have a link to where you could buy an idea as to the meaning of either (as much as I dislike you, I would happily share it with you for the benefit of others).
I'm sure you will reply (having the last word is probably important to you), but unless you are misguiding others on money matters, I shan't be replying to you on this or any other thread (so don't waste your precious time with any further personal insults, suggestions that I am hurt by your failure to deem me worthy of your time & 'wisdom' or similar clap).Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0 -

So find the answers and post them here, instead of bothering me.
When you actually do so with some accuracy, you may be taken seriously.
Until then, people will be reading my posts for information and skipping over yours for their wordy nonsense(as I just did).0 -
I have posted this elsewhere:
I sent a faster payment for currency and 2 working days later no acknowledgement, and no acknowledgement to an email from me confirming all the details.
Having phoned Thomas Global today, on the third working day after my bank made payment, they promise to get back to me 'sometime today' - not really very good service.
I very carefully followed all the instructions on the website, but their promise of a quick turnaround has turned out to be hollow.
I won't be using them again.0 -

Have you considered the possibility that your bank didn't send it as a faster payment? They do screw up sometimes.0 -

What reason do you have to defend this company.
Several garbled phone calls later I am hoping to get confirmation finally today that they'll despatch my money 28th Sept, ordered and payed for 24th.0
