my 4 year old grandson died 6 weeks ago, we dont know exactly why yet.
he got ill at 18 months with encephalitis (swelling of the brain)
it left him brain damaged and epileptic. he couldnt walk/talk/sit. initially he was tibe fed but againnst medical advice his parents gradually introduced 'real' food and in the last 2 years he was eating enough to sustain himself without help.

they also have a boy who is 5.
they both worked, my daughter full time and my son in law 25 hours a week.
if you wanted to work you would be able to find a way to manage it
as i said i do sympathise, but coming onto a forum and whinging is an insult to other people that dont use their circumstances to explain why they dont do more to help themselves.

Whilst I'm sorry for your circumstances, I've said it before, I'll say it again, it has zero bearing on the OP's circumstances.

Besides, I find it a mahooosively ironic (your bit I highlighted in red), when you yourself find the need to post up your personal circumstances as some kind of explaination why you disagree with the OP.
All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.

thank goodness there is a system like tax credits so the op has the choice to stay at home and care for her disabled child, I am sure it would be easier for her to work than stay at home and care for a disabled child!!! lets not forget that all of us that work also contribute to people's pensions!!! I am fed up of reading comments about people having money given to them for their children. BITTER comes to mind.

OP does tax credits not backdate for 90 days? Good luck and hope its sorted soon.

Hi I just posted on a similar thread but I originally ended my single claim on the 22nd may, first they forgot to send my forms but didnt tell me till after the first 10 working days timescale. Then they wouldnt even send the fors first class.
As soon as I received them I returned them next day recorded delivery, Iv been phoning every other day chasing and been told a different story each time. Dont believe a word they say. Iv wrote a letter of complaint to which they've ignored too. They even confirmed there was no information missing on the form and yet nearly 7 weeks later I am still without a penny. I havent paid childcare for 3 weeks and the term ends in a few weeks (school nursery). I also had to use my mortgage money to pay the first 3 weeks and so Im getting charges from my mortgage company as Im a month behind.
The staff are rude, ignorant and do not give a care. They have no specific process to follow and all you get told is 'its waiting to go into payment'. I have £7 left till the end of the month for me, my OH and my kids!

    £11,860.00 needed = £1,106 in savings

it must be frustrating but you dont know ur born!
when I had my kids you either worked to support them or you got a very basic amount of 'supplementary benefit'
think yourself lucky that you get as much help as you do!

If I had my way I'd stop your entitlement to DLA because if you are capable of typing emotional drivel every day on an internet message board then YOU are fit to work. Registered blind my rrs.

By the way how's your claim for carers allowance going. You do realise it's my taxes which will be paying for that?

    I love hypocrites.

i'm not sure on the dla front. he is classed as a selective mute and suspected of having autism and possibly hearing difficulties. due to the selective mutism, he is very difficult to assess as he is a completely different child in different circumstances, jeckyl and hyde if you like.

as for the tax credits, i have phoned a couple of times now and, as others have already said, get told different things everytime. one person told me that it takes 3 weeks from the day i send it to the day it even gets put on the system. today i was told it takes 3 weeks to "process" from the day they receive it but cant say how long it will take to "receive" it. i think its all a load of garbage, they dont care. we're now on week 4 with no tax credits. bills mounting up, having to rob peter to pay paul kind of thing. this is all fine in the short term but cant continue much longer doing this.
    anyway, i'll keep you updated.
and thanks for all the people that have stuck up for me

from what you have said i really think he does qualfy, you would need as much everdance sent in with his claim as possible and it could make a big difference to your family money wise if this was to be accepted , if you want to no more ask x

KIZZY I do not understand why your payments have stopped..... they will continue to pay you the same until the end of July when the new award will be worked out from the declaration form you have sent in.
Are you changing from a couple to single or vice versa or have you changed some other information which means they will stop the payment.

Edit: Sorry I think I'm now getting the idea this is a new claim. If so, unfortunately you have picked the worst time of the year to start a claim with everyone sending in renewal forms. When I originally sent off for mine I received the normal award into my bank but the backdated money came in the post in the form of vouchers that I paid into my account.
