Recent Radio Control Purchase Problems

Hi Guys, i purchased a petrol radio controlled car last week, i checked and tightened up all screws and nuts as per the instructions but im having some quality issues.

I have ran the truck 3 times for about 10 mins each time on a flat grass field.

Before a ran this i noticed some screwws missing so i purchased some new ones and all was fine.

There was oil on the card i kept it on and this was coming from the 3 of the shock absorbers.

The Body would catch on the tyres so i had to trim slightly.

There is already some signs of wear and tear on the drive shafts.

there are some nuts an grub screws that are already rusted although ive been near no water.

Some of the screws seem cross threaded.

All in all the quality is appauling, i have contacted the company for repalcement parts but they want me to send back to them and then will check for manufacture defects and let me know.

Any help please.

    what make is it?

is it a petrol one, or actually a nitro model?

any reputable make will have a section in the instructions that says, you must check all screws and fastenings after the 1st few runs, and then check them at regular intervals.

Its a petrol one and the make is a Shengqi Hummer 1/5th scale. I have took photo evidence of all the defects. Yes i checked all screws and fixings before each run, the screws are not the only issue:

The front wheel came off and the grub screws are rusted and no allen key will fit so you cannot adjust them.

Three of the shocks are leaking and have no oil in them and this before it ran.

The wheel insert is rounding off.

The drive shaft connectors are becoming larger and disformed.

The tyres are starting to come off.

You cannot tighten the screws up as they cross thread.

  • regretably that make is the worst make you could ever buy.

you need to spend at least 600 pounds to get a cheap but good petrol model, these cheap 350 pound chinese rubbish are only fit for the bin

send it back and get a brushless model from a good reliable shop like modelsport uk.

it will be easier, cheaper and more enjoyable to run

Hi Guys i have eventually got a reply from these guys after many days of chasing them up.

They now say that there are 6 seperate impact marks and scuffs? and so i owe them money for looking at this and to resend it back?

They have not commented on any of the quality issues i have raised and that the shocks were leaking prior to use ect.

I have replied asking for the tech notes on the quality issues.

After reading reveiws on these guys i doubt i will get any where so i was wondering what my options would be now.

I have many pictures of the poor quality and witnesses to say how much and how well i treated the car.

    Thanks

Do you have pictures of what condition the model was in though?

Are the company based in the UK?

I wouldnt imagine a few scuffs should have any bearing if the item is in fact faulty. I, personally, would expect something like this to get a knock here and there.

Or are they trying to claim these scuffs are the reason for the item not working correctly?

The Rc Car does 80km/ph and you have to run it in at half throttle as per the manufactures instructions so thats 40km/ph so yes there will definatly be marks :)

I sent them a detailed letter regarding the faults and they have not responded to any of my concerns and have replied saying there are marks on it??

I have replied and asked for there results on the defects i noted and am awaiting a response.

I was wondering how i would proceed if all else fails.

    Thanks for your time
