O2 and cashback query
I was told I could upgrade my contract 3 months early. Which I did via Quidco - went for a 12 monthly sim card contract. It didn't track, so cancelled it and reordered. Then was told I could not upgrade until 30 days before contract ended so cancelled order number 2.
Not wanting to miss out of the £100 cashback offer (can upgrade from 6 July) I applied again on 28 June for same contract as above. No email to confirm order had gone through. Not tracked, but sim arrived in post today. the intention was to pay for both contracts as they overlap would be a few days and then on 6 July transfer current number onto new contract.
Now, do I log an earnings cashback query after 30 days if it hasn't tracked by then and hope I get the cashback, or do I order one of these contracts in my mums name, apply for a PAC code and on 6 July transfer my number onto the new contract? I know this means the contract would be in her name but that would be fine.
It doesn't say on Quidco if by transferring a number onto a new contract if this invalidates the cashback or not. What's the best way forward in order to try and ensure I get the cashback please? As I had ordered 3 12 month sim deals within a short space of time I don't know if Quidco will think these are fraudulent.

Not sure how you're doing this? Quidco is only for new contracts? You can't upgrade through them?
If you start a new contract you can't then transfer an existing number to it, this is called a 'backdoor upgrade' and none of the networks allow it (getting a new customer deal while being an existing customer).0 -
You can switch over from contract to PAYG, and then request a PAC to transfer back to SimOnly. This would work. But most networks would not allow contract to contract transfers and if they did, it would be as Jon01 says, a "backdoor upgrade" which will mean a possibility of losing your cashback as your new contract no longer exists as you've they've just upgraded your existing contract to match the features of the new. I don't work for any mobile network, so won't be able to confirm the exact procedures, but for £100 cashback I would take the safer option, unless you're happy to pay the full price of the SimOnly regardless.
Good luck.0 -
Placed my first order through Quidco for Simplicity and it's not tracked. I think the problem is I logged into my O2 pay and go account when I placed the order and this has mucked up the tracking, Quidco website says I have to wait until the 29th July before I raise a query.0

kenrob - When did you place your order? It can take up to 2 days to track. If you don't see anything against your account by the 10th day, then cancel the sim and replace the order. Chasing it on the 29th is too risky as you would have lost your right to cancel and the cashback may be declined due to not getting the SimOnly as a new customer. When I did it last year, I always purchase as a new customer. I remembered when it didn't track the first time I cancelled and re-ordered. This does caused multiple O2 online accounts to be created, but it was easy enough to link those account to my main one. And the account for the sim that gets cancelled will eventually disappear after a few months.0
