I had this problem once, I sprayed everything with water with added Fairy liquid, it soon cleared them off!

I've just found loads of little black beetles inside a couple of courgette flowers, they are not blackfly, as they are beetle like, I have never seen so many. Not sure if they are going to harm the plants or not, any ideas?

I've got them on my courgette flowers as well but doesn't seem to be doing any damage and courgettes are still forming OK.

I think they will be pollen beetles

Personally I do not worry about them, I know they "may" damage crop, but never found this to be the case in domestic settings

  • I seem to have lots of little black bugs (I'm guessing they are blackfly, as I've seen them in flight) in the garden just now :( Any cheap way to get rid of them without damaging my flowers? I'd heard the fairy liquid tip before, but am a bit worried it will kill my lovely flowers.

We've got loads of tiny black insects in our Sweet Peas, they look a bit like beetles and they can fly, they are probably about an 8th of an inch long. Horrible things.
