Bun, I think you both need to sit down and talk things through. I know it's easier said than done but at the end of the day you need to both be honest with each other and talk through how you feel.
You are allowed to be upset over it, you've spent 17 years with your OH and have lots of memories etc.
Sally and Judi, the thought of runnng away for a few days to get away from the stresses and trials of life is very appealing!
Scaredy - I hope your cat is ok?
Pooky - £2, how are you going to cope?
My OH and I are having an email agrument at the moment, argh! All over whether or not we should move, we both hate living in the apartment and paying ground rent etc ontop of the other bills. We've got the deposit and stuff but the mortgage thing could be an issue? We got our first mortgage when we had a total of £30k debt between us and now it's under 10k - all mine, never missed a mortgage payment, so who knows.
Also the cheaper houses are being reserved!!!0 -
lmc -why not go and see and IFA to see if the mortgage thing would be an issue? If you've never missed a payment its unlikely taht you'll be flat out refused but the amount going to monthly repayments will be taken into account when determining how much you can borrow (along with deposit etc).
And at the end of the day there's no point arguing if you don't have all the facts...
And I have to say how lucky I am with my OH - got home last night and the flat had been cleaned from end to end. HE's a star

See Luc,
DH had cleaned the whole house Tuesday night, and when I got home last night he had made fresh pork kebabs for the bbq-he isnt a bad guy, in fsact is really a rather good husband-just isnt affectionate.
So, in honour of that, I am officially shutting up now. And LMC-I know you are right but I am sick of trying to talk about it, sick to the back teeth.Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
Luc, I've emailed an IFA and missed their calls; I left my mobile at home yesterday. D'oh! I'd like to think it won't be an issue, plus our joint income has doubled.
Bun that's really lovely that they cleaned the house and made tea etc. Can you throw some tips my way please?0 -
Bun, she's 21, she'll be 22 in August.
lmc.. hopefully the new tablets and the anti b's will sort her out.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!

Hello everyone.. hugs all round I think. Feeling pretty tired and fed up today too. Mr S's continuing grumpiness over work is getting worse I think, practically had to force conversation out of him the last couple of days and he can't seem to make a decision about anything. Oh well, hopefully be better at the weekend as it usually is, but weekdays are becoming hard work.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
