As I said a bit further up, my Ibiza was the most reliable car I'd ever owned (followed on from a Peugeot 106 that was OK, a 306 that would cut out randomly and an MG that started leaking via the roof after 9 months from new and felt stuck together with sticky tape). So much so I decided to stay with VAG and hopped over to Skoda (who come in 8th in this reliability study: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/news/7865945/Japanese-manufacturers-top-car-reliability-poll.html)
Jap cars are renowned for their reliability as demonstrated by their dominance in there.0 -

Felt exactly the same as the Polo's clutch. Probably the same VW part.

I don't recall saying exciting and in my opinion fabia's look middle aged whereas some superminis do not. Glad my request for advice amused you so.0 -
I bought a Fiesta at the end of a weekend trawling round dealerships. Decided the Ibiza wasn't for me. I went to several dealersips and looked at several brokers and other dealer websites. I fixed on a deal which was less than my personal target price. In fact I got a broker price beaten by £100, a spare wheel and a tank of fuel. Some dealers were more willing to negotiate than others even within the same chain.0

That's because every car has different margins. One car can have been bought for 5k and needed £1000 work doing to it to make it warranty-able, but another may be part-ex'd for 5k and be fine, so straight away you have £1000 more negotation as they will invariably have the same forecourt value.

well she has not made the wrong choice she has made the choice that best suites her.
just because you work for VAG dealer does not mean anyone who chooses not to have a VAG built car makes the incorrect decision.
i am not a ford fan myself and personally would not buy one but that would not mean i think anyone who does is making the wrong decision.
the op states she has got a good deal and also the fact she has a ford dealer close where as she does not have a close by seat dealer makes it a good choice for her needs/wants.0 -

Well as the car is new I would hope it needs no work!
I'm changing from one Ford to another and my husband has owned 3 Fiestas so we are happy with the quality.
Plus any parts are cheaper than those from VW group (used to have a Polo).0 -

It was only my humble opinion, and as I said in the post, I hope it works out for you.
