I think when you edit you can 'go advanced' which should let you change the title.

I agree with you, it's about time those robbers got their just desserts.

Actually, that bill had a very useful intent as it was meant to restrict private clamping activities, rather than encourage rogue clampers.peter_the_piper wrote: »The one that the Labour party rushed through on the last day of parliament just before they were dumped.
Not sure the correct name but I think its the "Crime and Security industries" bill.
No, more like there are no such acts (that actually facilitate private clamping) to repeal. What we want from Mr Clegg is an invitation for suggestions of new laws to be created which prohibit various activities.peter_the_piper wrote: »I must admit I did expect a bigger response than this. Maybe nobody thinks clamping is bad except a few.0 -
Far from restricting (although that may have been the intent) clampers it actually takes away one level of appeal from the victim, that of the courts. An appeal service was mooted but unless the clamper has to pay a very large deposit, which he loses if fee not repaid, they will just morph as now leaving the victim dangling. At least we can now sue them and the landowner/agent, I don't think this avenue will be left open if the bill continues as it is.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
