AVON CONNECTS
Not entirely sure how much of this is supposed to be on line before the official launch (which will apparently be next week??) but ...
Go to the reps website, and on the front page at the bottom there is a link for "Avon Connects Online Training".
Click on it and it gives you some more info on Avon Connects, but at the top of that page there are some other links giving loads of information on PDF documents (you'll need Acrobat Reader to see them). There are screen shots and all sorts.
Looks good, the PDF's are quite long though so I need to have a proper look methinks ...0 -

Cons - in my opinion - it is hard work. You don't get given a list of ready made customers who you can go and see. You have to build your customer base. I am putting this in as I had one potential Rep who was disgusted by the idea of having to look for her own customers.
I have a love/hate relationship with Avon but would suggest everyone thinks about how little else they actually need to do to become a rep. Yes, you pay £15 to start up but you don't need to have any stockholding, you dont have to pay for orders upfront, you have access to 100's of products and can just order 1 item of each rather than boxes, you get a couple of weeks or so credit, you get free returns, you can return whatever you like, deliveries are free, paperwork is supplied free or at low cost and you have the back-up of an international organisation.
Anyone who runs a business on ebay or in the 'real world' knows how much hard work it is sourcing saleable items, buying in small quantities, shifting leftovers (usually below cost), buying and creating stationary etc. Don't think its too much to expect the rep to go out and find customers - what do they think they are getting 25% of the profits for!
Just wanted the newbies to know that although Avon is hard work and we moan no end about it, there are precious few other companies who do so much and make it possible.
As Del-Boy says, 'You know it makes sense' :rotfl:Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

love it! Moneymaker. Might put this on a postcard and send it to her! Saw her in the street, she did a doubletake and completely ignored me! :rotfl:
I think when people see the avon ads on tv, they just expect to make money, not realising you have to put some effort into it.
I like talking to my customers, they are lovely people and without Avon wouldn't have got to know half my neighbourhood!0 -
Hey,
Avon is great for making money and easy to do as pretty much sells itself. I gave up last year as got busier at full time job and ended my account, or so Id thought! I got a call from my old sales leader asking if wanted to buy a charity pin badge which I did and some bronzing pearls, when i asked her how i would pay she informed me that my account was still open despite not working for them for 6 months, so once recieved the goods pay on invoice on the normal way. Well good never arrived so i pressumed nothing more of it until I reicive a letter from Avon telling me i hadent paid and i was getting charged a late payment fee, i immediately called them to advise i never recied and they said would credit the account. However some months later I got a letter from a collections agency advising id still not paid again i called and told a credit would be done and an apology. So despite that i hadent fallen out with Avon until I came to apply for a mortgage and was turned down and asked to do a credit search on myself and found out Avon had put 2 missed payments against me on my credit file was livid to say the least! After speaking to them yet again to explain it one was for the above mentioned and another was when my ssiter took over my round as i was on honeymoonand missed the payment date got the letter advising of the charge and she paid it straight away! After a good few phonecalls i managed to get through to a UK based call centre and once i explained she immediately took it off my credit rating. Very naughty to say the least! What was more frustrating was we were talking about a sum of £9!!!!!
So whilst yes Avons a great company im just saying dont miss your payment dates and make sure your account is closed when you decide to leave! I did realise that they could put these marks on your credit rating so easily as advised by experian if you were to miss a major payment credit card etc they are less likely to put it on your rating then these sorts of companies!
Ramble overHonestly not trying to bad mouth or put anyone off as if done right its a great way to make money!

On the down side, one of the streets that I have been allocated is locally known as the trouble area. OH says no way should i go as people there would take the products and refuse to give me the money. Not worth putting myself in danger, he says I should ask if I can be allocated another road. What does everybody thing any similiar experiences??
there was a rep who used to post on here who has the same issue.
She lived on an estate and was allocated an estate opposite her. She said it was very rough and she was worried about canvassing it and asked for more territory. She was told there was nothing local, and she was given some a car drive away. However she went to this territory, during broad daylight, hubby in car and started canvassing.
She was pleasantly surprised. She said it is rough, but as some of the buyers are on benefits, they would have her money ready for her on delivery day. She said they were better than her regular customers! She said she was known on the estate as the avon lady and even the young men that hung around on corners, etc. would say, here comes the avon lady.
So take someone with you, and give it a go. Take DH if you can. Do it during the day and rather than leaving books and coming back, knock and ask if they want to see a book. That way you know who wants one, and ask if any of their friends would be interested.0 -
:wave:Hi all ,
Just wanted to introduce myself as I have recently become an AVON rep and am loving it! :rotfl:I'm so excited to be getting my first delivery next week....
The campaign figures that everyone seems to have at the bottom of their messages on here - are they order totals or profit totals?
Thanks,

never give over your products without payment first. If they say give them to me, I will pay you later, politely say you will come back when they have the money.0
