Evening :) No more UUs to report yet, but there are a couple of things still on the way out. I too have thrown out a couple of nail varnishes - they were much too thick and gloopy to use (some had separated - ick!) and given that I have difficulty even wearing it on my toenails I bit the bullet and decided to chuck some. We'll see how it goes with the others as there are still quite a few left! Note to self: really really really do not buy any more nail varnishes, no matter how much I like the colour!

On a plus note, I picked Spain in the office sweepstake for the World Cup and so the winnings paid for that Avon order I had made in June - I don't feel as bad about that now.

    Have a good evening everyone.

  • Evening everyone,

I've got a confession to make, I've ordered some stuff from Avon - foot scrub and cream for £5. But I did manage to walk past The Body Shop and Boots without going in and having a sniff.

I've not got any UU to report at the moment, I'm slowly but surely working my way through my shower gel, body butters etc.

thanks for all the recommendations so far, I'll certainly know what to look out for or avoid.

    LMC xx

When I went shopping yesterday I had OH in tow and didn't get the chance to get anywhere near the BS, so that was a lucky escape (until I go shopping later in the week that is)! As planned, I did go to Boots to use my £2 off hair voucher though. I treated myself to a Lee Stafford Blinding Brunette Shampoo. I know a lot of you like LS but this will be the first time I will have tried anything from the range. I am not intending to use it for a while yet though - must uu other shampoo first. Talking of which, tomorrow I will uu a bottle of Herbal Essences Rain Forest Flowers Dazzling Shine for Normal Hair shampoo. WIBA? Yes, I use a shampoo for colour treated hair most days but then switch to HE once or twice a week when my hair needs a change and something more gentle.

Over the last couple of days I've been using an M&S Formula Time Defying Ceramide Eye Cream from a sachet but it's been making my eyes water and so I've ditched it. I've got a few tubes and sample tubes of eye cream but only use it occasionally. I do want to get into a routine of using it though so will be making a concerted effort from now on.
  • Hi all, a few more UUs to record: :)

Pantene Brunette Expressions Shampoo & Conditioner - WIBA? Yes, my hair likes this make and its often on offer somewhere. Might have a change with a different brand next though.

Body Shop Mango Shower Gel - WIBA? Yes its lovely - gentle, fruity and non-drying. Liking BS shower gels a lot right now.

Boots Fresh Honey Be Good to Me Body Cream - WIBA? Hmmm probably not, it was a bit heavy for this time of year and didn't really have a fragrance of anything (although it has been living in my wardrobe for quite some time so maybe it was quite nice when it was new!).

Have very mixed feelings about a perfume I've almost UU - my lovely Smiley perfume is nearly finished and although its great to finish another thing, I do love it so much. Can't justify buying another just yet either, as I've got so many other perfumes to finish first. Does anyone else get these mixed feelings with products they love? :o

    Happy pampering everyone!
    Love from Candice x

Another UU for me to report today: a large tub of Bath and Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom body butter. WIBA? If I'm in the States probably as the prices are cheap depending also on how the dollar is performing. I do have a tub of TBS version ready to open though.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

  • InaPickle pointed me in the direction of this thread - thank you - after confessing to my toiletries sins on the "How much can you save?" thread: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=34667543&postcount=5137. I must say, I'm glad to be not the only one with a "problem"; this is a really inspiring thread!

I also realised that I didn't include the toiletries left on the shelves above my bed that I rarely touch. A couple of hand creams, about 5 foot creams and various puffy eye bag ointments. Also haven't included any of the toiletries that live in my boyfriend's bathroom, but I've vowed to take nothing else out there until they run out. Nor have I included the hand creams on my desk at work. Same story.

I'm going to go completely cold turkey on buying toiletries, but at the same time look after myself more. I always feel better about myself if I've moisturised or used a leave in conditioner, even if there is no actual difference in my skin / hair / body condition!

So, I'm looking forward to beating my addiction with you all!

Best of luck with your own toiletries battles :)

Bought some shampoo today using the £2 tillspit from Boots. On checking my stash I had 2 John Frieda conditioners and no shampoo to go with it so felt justified.

An almost UU (don't want it to finish) is my Kenzo Flowers EDT 30ml - I definitely want more of this the cheapest I have seen so far is £16.98, does anyone know where to get any cheaper?

I have the devil and the angel arguing constantly in my head, the devil saying things like 'you never know, this next cream might be the one to get rid of the fine lines and bags!!' and the angel is saying 'you've tried every 5 star eye cream you could find and it's made absolutely no difference, so just use the ones you've got and THEN start looking for others' so it's a bit of a battle.....hopefully that doesn't make me sound insane :D

It sounds as insane as I feel I am. I found myself in the tiny toiletries section in my local Co-op yesterday (1 shelf about 2 metres high by 1 wide) trying to decide what I needed. I already owned everything that was there, that was a sort of wake up call.

does anyone know how to get rid of cracked heels? I have the LE FOOT SCRUB AND CREAM so am going to scrub every night and see if this works.

I have been using the Margaret Dabbs intensive hydrating foot lotion. They used to sell it on QVC but I got mine last Summer in Boots, reduced to £10 :T which sounds a lot but it comes with a pump dispenser and is lasting ages and has worked wonders on my heels. Another good one to try is the L'Occitane foot cream which has shea butter in.

Have also read that putting vaseline on at bedtime with a pair of cotton socks is a great moisturising treat for feet but haven't tried that one myself - too many other foot creams, lotions and potions in my stash to use first!

actualy did PYNM this week!!!!(then remembered this a.m that I was going to do toes :eek:so they will have to wait or fingernails will lose their polish with remover(will not try wearing rubber gloves again!!)

did nails with a french polish look using some nude YSL ploish with their white tip pen,you are suppossed to put the white tip on top of the nail but I maded such a hash of it that I now put it under the nail which of course leaves white stuff on your finger BUT this comes off easily if you rub with an emery board:)WIBA well I bought it duty free with a clear pen that is now empty ,would buy on its own(was £25 as a set:eek:) as it is easier to use than a polish and stays put longer than a pencil

off to town today(did not go the other day) so watch out JL I am after the YSL bonus time(plus Clinique at Debs:eek:)
