OK I hold my hands up that I should have posted this on the June thread but my addiction to Facebook games has gotten the better of me and whenver on line find myself checking my virtual crops rather an fessing up about beauty buys and trying to justify them. The weekend before last I bought a Love Etc shower gel from TBS purely because I love the body butter that I got free with Marie Claire so much and it matches well with my new Issey Miyake A Scent fragrance (bought by MrM so surely doesn't count!! :money:). I also bought last week a new Nails Inc polish from The Bay which I got for half price :money: although I didn't need it but I reasoned that I didn't own that colour as it looked like a hot corally pink on the woman at work but alas when I put it on looked just coral and only slightly different to the two other corals that I own! OK I've learned my lesson and think I need to stop buying lacquers although I am hankering after Leighton Denny's Brief Encounter as I don't have a sheer nude. At least I didn't buy the Nails Inc TSV last week.

This morning have UU a 10ml tube of LE Daily Eye Repair by cutting it in half and over the last week have been shoving a cotton bud in to get the very last bits out :money:. WIBA? The Jury's out on a lot of LE products for me. Depends what Avon does with them. At the moment it's not working as well as it used to as the skin under my eyes is really dry at the moment. I do have another 10ml tube of this (probably take on hols), the last few drops ofElemis Absolute Eye (now that is fabby stuff) and a tube of Boots Vitamin E eye cream to go at so won't really need to buy any for a while unless I find that the Boots one is doing nothing then I may splash out on the Elemis one.

Have a good day everyone. x
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

No more use ups unfortunately but i've started using my Lacura body lotion on the baby aswell (he has senstive skin but doesn't react to this cream) so I'm hoping that it runs out quickly.

Going clothes shopping today so I must bypass Boots etc although I do need a decent exfoliator (any recomendations for a cheap yet senstive one?)

Got a sample of vaseline body lotion through the post yesterday but that shoudn't take to long to use up.

Ha, I've just started this as well a few weeks ago, and it really is very addictive :rotfl: I'm determined to make a dent in a nailpolish to see how fast i can get one to go down, so I may choose one to live beside my home computer, and put it on while 'farming' :p

    A couple of use ups:
Rituals Awareness moisture balancing face lotion sachet. WIBA? No - didn't really like how it felt going on, but can't tell if it's done much yet anyway re. balancing. I have another sachet or 2 to use, so i might change my mind, but it doesn't seem that great.
John Frieda condtioner - don't know which one, but it was in a purple tube... WIBA? No - it's ok, but I'm sticking to protein conditioners now, this just doesn't quite do the job my TIGI one does.

This means I now only have two open (and almost finished!) full size bottles of conditioner, and one half empty travel sized conditoner to use up - and then it's on to the giant TIGI bottles which are my HG conditoner, and waiting, still wrapped and unopened. The end is in sight for my giant stash of random and generally useless conditioners :rotfl::T:j

Can I get a "well done" for being so good?! :j
    {snipped}

Still making my way through the travel size stuff, and also hoping to make up a little care package for someone I know who is going through a tough time at the moment to cheer her up.

    Well done! :D

That's a lovely idea, I'm going to do the same for a friend whose dad is in hospital.

No UUs to report although a Botantics foot cream is spluttering so will cut that open tonight.

  • Morning everyone,

You're all doing a great job on UU.

I've got one UU to report, Imperial Leather Bubble Bath. WIBA, yes as I love the smell.

I'm currently in the process of UU be naked shampoo and conditoner, it's meant to remove product build up from your hair but in all honesty my hair feels greasy and great big flakes of white stuff (like dandruff) appear when I brush my hair.

Thanks, a full month of use ups does make it look like we're making progress. I think I might make it even more useful for July by counting items in and items out. Important point here is that items in really needs to be a lower number than items out.

Who had over 1500 items when they did a stocktake or anyone remember what the exact number was? I'm too scared to do a full count like that. Maybe I'll do it next January if I manage to use up loads of samples before then.

I have a notebook in my handbag and am using it too keep lists for everything, toiletries used, freebies received, mystery shops done and any other MSE challenges I sign up to. Then I can type the lists for my diary thread later

3rd July and not one cosmetic item purchased yet:A

:o:o:o Embarassingly I think that was me - the figure was 1156 I think.

I am joining again this month but have to confess to falling spectacularly off the wagon at the start of the month as I couldn't resist the Liz Earle TSV on Sat :eek::eek::eek: - it was fab. I tried sooooooooo hard to resist but temptation got the better of me. I should have posted to get some willpower from you guys but have been so busy with end of term activities with my lovely girlies. I will just have to make July "toiletries neutral" ie use up 10 things to counter the 10 I will be adding from the TSV! Doing well so far with 5 UU to report already:

    • Liz Earle face scrub - WIBA? most definately, great smell and texture and easy to use in the shower
    • Guinot anti aging mask - WIBA? No, I have enough masks in my stash to last til I'm 90 and in any case, although this was nice, can't say it decreased my wrinkles!
    • L'Occitane shea butter body lotion - WIBA? yes, love this, really moisturising. However, it is a bit procey so if any of you beauty hounds can suggest an alternative, let me know!
    • Bare Escentuals vanilla sugar eye shadow - WIBA? yes, although :o:o:o:o I have to own up to having over 100 BE eyeshadows so will be using up other colours first which will work just as well before wandering into my local Champneys store to buy more of this one! Note to self must also resist the TSV at the weekend!
    • Boots No 7 eye shadow base - WIBA? Yes, this really helps my eye make up to last. I used to use Clinique Touchbase but the No 7 works just as well for me and costs less so great money saving there! I am on my last pot now (which I bought using a £5 off No 7 voucher :T ) so will be looking out for a No 7 offer so I can stock up on this one ;)
I am sure at this rate I will finish another 5 items before the end of the month. My hit list is:
    • L'Occitane hand cream 30ml size - on it's last legs. I have cut the tube open to scrape out the last bits of this one
    • Bare Escentuals skin revver upper
    • Decleor alguaromes shower gel
    • Liz Earle skin repair
    • Eliabeth Arden eight hour cream - seem to have been using this one for ages - thought it would go last month but it hasn't!
Hopefully will manage a few more by the end of the month too!

Off to read the rest of your posts now then really must do some housework!

woo hoo I finally have a UU to report!

This morning I finished off L'Orel youth code day cream: WIBA - YES, it is a lovely cream and really agrees with my skin. I tend to have oily skin and break outs yet my cheks end up quiet dry, this was a really great product and at £10ish a great buy BUT i will use up my other face creams before buying again!!

I was so good when I went shopping today. Only bought a semi-perm hair dye and NO toiletries. Pity the same cannot be said about clothes. I happened to wander into the New Look sale ...

Also received a free BO spray today so I'm chuffed.

Afternoon everyone - have finished a Neutrogena shampoo, which I'll buy again, and a nondescript pink lipgloss. Had to buy a shampoo because I ran out while away - can't actually remember who made it, but it smells of pomegranate :rotfl: - and randomly I was given a bottle of something called Body Ultimate Skincare Ultimate Face and Body Polish when I bought a newspaper this morning - not sure why :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
