Sorry, lots of threads but I'm not sure I want to wear white or something like that
I like the idea of a bright red dress (not sure what my mother would say to that) but wanted to suss out what people thought.
can you get a wedding dress that isn't in white? Where would you look?

Hi, Im not wearing white, im actuially wearing iceyblue dress and its gorgeous, white and ivory just drained me as im very pale, and i would feel awkward walking down in white as im a mummy!
I brought mine from a bridal shop they do stock a few different colours, and some white dresses they ahve do also come in other colours too!
Or ebay? But i have heard good and bad stories so check the feed back!
And good luck!! Its your day, not your mums, sdo go with what YOU want! :-)Remember, be nice to members of bank staff, you'll be surprised at how much they will help you! But they dont have the powers to refund everything without sending it up to regional offices for authorisation!:D0 -

This is from the monsoon bridal range but isn't white!a bit unusual but I love it, I couldn't picture myself in a white dress so this is perfect for me0 -
I'd recommend looking for Prom dresses, they're as detailed and fancy as wedding dresses (minus the train) but in every colour of the rainbow and not as expensive!
Just a few examples that I think are pretty!
One, two, three, four, five, six....
I'd better stop, there are too many I like! That website is great for getting ideas though!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I actually went out with the intention of buying a red dress to get married in, I never wanted white or anything remotely bridal, however we went into a bridal shop looking at prom dresses and bridesmaids dresses in red for me to wear and I came out with an ivory and claret red alfred angelo dress, go figure I got caught up in it all and fell in love with the dress I didnt want lol. I am so happy I did this and I love my dress to pieces although its nothing like I ever wanted.
Anyway I dont think it matters what colour or type of dress you get married in as long as you are happy. I have a friend who got married in jeans and a t shirt and she doesnt have any regrets about that at all. So I guess my point is as long as you are happy with what you chose thats all that matters.
I still love the idea of getting married in red and if I hadnt fallen in love with this dress I know thats what I would have done0 -
i just tried on a lovely teal coloured frock today. i'd never have picked it out myself in a million years, but the lady in the shop (a wee one-off boutique that does mostly prom/formal wear) said to try it for style and size.
what a difference some colour makes!
it's a bridal-style dress (tie ribboned back, some beading on the bust and down the back, fuller skirt) but the colour of it is so rich. took a picture on the phone but it came out more blue than teal.
and it's half the price of a 'proper' wedding dress to boot!! very MSE:j
if colour's what you want, go for it. just make sure you're 100% happy with it, and that when you look back on the pictures in ten years you won't be mortified that you didn't have a 'traditional' frock.
