    Delicious11: You need to approach the retailer and see what they say and offer. You should also collect as much evidence as you can in terms of what the exact fault is and it's potential cause. Many people claim their laptop has failed due to a 'faulty nvidia chip' when it could actually be due to something completely different. A number of manufacturers have published model and sometimes serial numbers for 'problem' machines, I'm not sure if HP has so check their website.

    Remember you can only claim under SoGA for an 'inherent' fault, ie. something at the time of manufacture then means it would fail later on. You're not covered for general wear and tear or it reaching the end of it's serviceable life.
