Not long now 4nnabella!!! You all organised? Suppose you will have to have more done than some others would with having Christmas and New Year in the way - that will be me next year if things get back on track!!!

    Haha, no, not really!! :rotfl:

Well, sort of but still feels like sooooo much to do... We're definitely trying to get everything sorted before Christmas so we don't have to worry about anything afterwards.

We had a good meeting at out venue last week and went through the whole day in detail, which has really helped. Off the top of my head, the things I've got left to do are:

    - Buy organza bags for putting together the goodie bags for our favours (have gots lots of little mini toiletries for girls/boys)
    - Get bits for goodie bags for two 2yr old boys
    - Send balance cheque to person who I've hired OH's surprise transport from
    - Pick what canapes we want for drinks reception and confirm to caterers, along with total numbers for meal.
    - Buy a big church type candle for use during ceremony
    - Organise presents for mums. OH needs to get presents for his best man and two ushers
    - Sort table plan - I need to get a mirror and glass pens as I want to write the table plan on a mirror
    - Organise seating plan for caterers to show who's sitting where
    - OH is sorting playlist for music during meal
    - Find a wishing tree! We've seen a perfect one that a gift shop uses for their display in the store and we've asked if they would consider hiring it to us for the day as it's exactly what we want. The woman seemed up for doing that, so we just need to go back and see her in January to see if it's still ok. I really hope it will be, as if she says no in January then we probably won't have time to sort anything else so will have a guest book instead.
    - Need to choose who we would like to do our second reading during the ceremony.

OMG that seems like so much to do when I write it all down, and only 5 weeks to do it, not taking Christmas/New Year into account!

I've got my second hair trial next Tuesday, 14th, and also we're having our meeting with the registrar to go through everything for the ceremony.

Some days it feels like it's all coming together and other days I feel a bit overwhelmed with how much there is to do!!

I really hope everything gets back on track for you, MrsC...tobe, and if it doesn't go ahead for January 2012 then I hope you don't have to wait too long!

Hi all, sorry I haven't returned earlier, I only usually get to come on here on my phone and it's a pain to post. Although I still have my false nails on from the wedding and typing is a pain too lol
We didn't get snow on the wedding day, but considering how bad it was the week after it was probably a good thing!! I finished everything that needed doing abou 10pm the night before then didn't get to sleep until about 2am - big mistake, I got up late and got half a butty all day until the meal at 4pm! My sister ended up interferring, when she said she wasn't coming I was a little bit relieved bt she managed to stress me out!! No one was ready by the time the cars arrived, the driver had to wait in the car while everyone ran upstairs and dived in a room to get changed.
I joked early on that my dad was telling everyone he was going to march me down the aisle, he wasn't kidding!! I thought I was going to fall over! When it's everyone else's turn WALK SLOW!!!!! All the dress fittings in the world will not get you used to walking the length of an aisle with everyone watching. Take in the moment, we got our officially pics this week and remembering how wonderful it was to marry OH was amazing, it felt like the service lasted seconds. OH cried during the vows, which set me off, I was smiling extra hard so I didn't start crying, then I felt like a right heartless cow lol. Found out after the ceremony that OH set loads of others off too!!
I got loads of group pics outside and everyone was shivering, I was lovely and warm, I didn't get my cloak but did grab a nice jacket out of my parents loft! I was really concerned about OHs mum, whether she'd be ok with the outside pics, she looked freezing, then I noticed that she had someone holding her coat so she could show off her outfit lmao.
I think the first dance went well, I don't remember what we did but I didn't fall over! We didn't have lessons but doing the cha cha slide later on I realised no one could see my feet so it didn't matter too much what I danced like!!

I think it ended up costing us around £4500 (I haven't worked out the final figures yet) Did someone start a thread on costs for other brides, I can post up the breakdown if wanted.

Ummm, I think that's all, have I forgotten anything?

Hey Mrs C, can you please change my date to 11/11/11?

Flights weren't going to get us to Barbados on time to get the marriage licence (arrives 2pm), magistrates closed at 3.15pm so not a hope of getting there on time. Had to apply for licence in person, boo! So we are marrying the week before then will have the cruise as our honeymoon. Thanks
