    Hi All,.

Ok im back with wedding photos.. not professional ones - but ones family and friends have taken.

Our big day went smoothly. It was a very hot day with a heatwave warning, good job i got myself a fan.

The whole day went so fast, I would do it all again if i could. maybe renew our vows several years down the line, - (LOL... good excuse to do it all again)

I was running 15 mins late by the time i got in the Limo, but luckily the Limo driver got us there on time :-) But i think brides can be a little late.. :-)

I have included some of our Pre-Photo Shoot we had done with the photographer the week before the wedding. The photographer was fantastic. He worked so hard and he got such great ideas from behind the camera. he captured alot from the ceremony and reception. Looking forward to seeing them photos too.

We really wanted to get married on New Year's Day as well, but at pretty much all the venues we visited, when we mentioned that date they looked at us as though we'd just asked for the moon on a plate!

Hi  can you add me to the list please? 22/04/2011 for us! We looked at our venue on Monday and booked it there and then as we knew we wanted it!
We were not engaged as such but live together and have been together for 7.5 yrs and have a baby so when we told everyone it was a case of 'Oh btw we've set a date for the wedding', and that was the first anyone had heard of us getting married lol

Not sure why although it possibly could make it a lot more expensive for you as it would likely cost more in staffing. It's my dad's birthday that day so I wouldn't be able to have mine then! Gone for as close to my birthday as possible as we want it in winter and we have to have a weekend where there's nothing on at the venue as we would be interrupting it (and for the clean up after!), which just happens to be my birthday weekend! Woot!

Some said it would be more expensive, some didn't. Mainly the response was 'we've never had anyone wanting to get married on New Year's Day before!'

Yes - choosing New Year's Day is proving to be 'interesting'! I like all the '1's for one reason, and it'll be exactly 2 years since we met. Also, we wanted something in school holiday time as I've got two away at University. We're going to have the ceremony as late as possible really - 4pm - which should give people time to recover if they've been out celebrating the New Year! Our reception venue is just a small local restaurant, which doesn't usually open on New Year's Day, but they are making an exception for us - but yes, it will be dearer due to them having to pay staff double! Oh well - on the other side I've booked a lovely local hotel (four-poster, jacuzzi etc) for half price cos it's January.

My church where we want to get married isn't licensed for weddings, and I must admit that when I phoned the local registry office and asked for a registrar to come out on 1st January, they 'asked around' and couldn't find a 'volunteer' to do it. Apparently legally they have to provide someone if we insist, but tbh I'm just as happy to go to the local town hall a day or two beforehand, do the legal bit, then have a proper ceremony/blessing in church on the Saturday. It's second time around for both of us, and we're happy with it that way, plus it's cheaper(!!) and although I COULD insist on a registrar coming if I wanted, I would hate to think of somebody being forced to come and then feeling resentful all the way through LOL.

Having decided on a date, it is quite fun to see people's reactions, cos it must be a bit unusual, but at least we'll have no excuse to forget our wedding anniversary in years to come!
