Magpye it's so good to see you back. How are you doing on the clothes challenge?!
I never seem to manage the pulled together look myself, but always think high heels are a must for me or I don't feel an outfit is smart. I always feel too casual with just flats.
Can you "do" jewellery at your job? I sometimes think a nice chunky necklace can add a bit of a pretty touch to a work outfit.

PF, thanks - I currently work for a LA and although it's business support, there doesn't seem to be any real dress code. I can probably get away with accessories but I am wary of heels due to the stairs.

Vicki, it's quite sad that a few of us have fallen by the wayside but life happens- all we can do is hope everything is ok and that one day they return to the fashion fold! (I have failed miserably on the challenge, Lost count of how many skirts I bought but in my defence they were all sale bargains and very mse!)

Lou - perhaps some scarves? Imo they instantly brighten up a plain outfit and can look super chic and work-appropriate. Congrats on the new role!

Sharron - oh no, that sounds horribly painful! Hope he's ok.

    Today's outfit is:

Indigo skinnies (a new pair that actually fit!) - DP
    White vest - Primark
White short sleeved jumper with blue stripe detail - DP sale
Blue Mary Janes - George sale
Cream plastic owl ring - New Look
Blue beaded cuff - bead shop
Blue earrings that look like Polos - not sure.

I very rarely wear jeans and heels and I'm rather liking it :)

    Afternoon, everybody!

    Sharron -Hope DH is okay.

Lovely to have you back with us Magpye and congrats on the new role. If you're in the financial position to do so why not treat yourself to a couple of lovely dresses in block colours that, like Alex, suggests you can accessorise with vintage scarves, funky belts, clashing tights and some of your amazing shoe collection.
That way you can look "work appropriate" but not compromise on your ecclectic way of dressing.

goan - what are you and Mr Goan going to do with 40 vintage stools?? Also what's industrial fortnight?

Queen - Round the old manufacturing heartland of the Midlands all the factories (what few are still remaining) cease production for a fortnight. It still happens around here, the roads are ridiculously quiet and the pubs are heaving.
Stool-wise we'll keep about six for around the kitchen table and I'll probably distress them with off-white paint and candlewax. A few of our mates want some, too and any leftover can go on eBay.

Alex - Loving the "Century of Fashion" challenge you've set me! I'm pondering when the start as we're off festivaling next week but I'm definately up for it.

    Today's outfit:
1970's psychedellic maxi skirt (Vinatage Fair)
Black vest (10 years ago from TopShop)
    Vintage denim waistcoat
Jon's socks and vintage suede ankle boots with Louise heels (Car boot)
    Silver bangles and rings (India)
    Knitted beret (Jumble sale)
