Ooh congrats to the Aussie on his new job :) Excellent bargains too! Shoe shopping for big footed men is a total nightmare so he must be chuffed to have got those nice shoes.

I'm avoiding the sale. It's my brother's 30th and my dad's birthday on the same day in a couple of weeks so I'm going to be el skinto after buying their presents. Minimal cash available to spend on clothes :(

I can report back the Toy Story was great, although for the emotional among you, a tissue or two may be required towards the end - don't want to give it away but I think you'll know the part when you see it.

Boys are off to see A Team next week but thats a 'boys' film so DH is taking them (my excuse to go shopping)

Alex - definately make a cheeky offer! It's a quiet time on eBay as it's the industrial fortnight so the seller may snap your offer up!

Rainy- Tremendous bargains for the Aussie and congrats on his new job. For future reference, if you have a Slater's Menswear nearby they specialise in clobber for the taller bloke and stock shoes in extra large sizes (very good prices, too).
  • goan - what are you and Mr Goan going to do with 40 vintage stools?? Also what's industrial fortnight?

Alex - aw don't give up hun, you'll get there in the end :)

Went to the charity shop after work for an hour of vol. work and we had to call the police because a guy who was shoplifting got really agressive, was quite scary!

    Evening ladies

Rainy, is it true what they say about men with big feet? lol

    Outfit today
Black linen trousers - new look
White sleveless top with big red and green flowers on - DP's
    Rasperry red cardigan - DP's
Black flat slingbacks with a little bow on - Peacocks, bargain at £6.

I have been inspired by this thread to wear more skirts and dresses, and I have been wearing a couple that I have managed to slim back into and I have bought a couple. However, I bought a long maxi skirt from New Look (in the sale of course!) and its really really see through which puts me off wearing it. I have a knee length white slip thingy that I bought to go under a white skirt but it looks a bit funny with the slip being a lot shorter that the skirt AND you can see that the slip is white through the skirt. The skirt is blues and greens and is lovely but if I had thought to check it for see throughness in the shop I wouldnt have bothered buying it. So, any suggestions forr what I can do? I thought about a long length nude slip maybe?

Its not my lady bits as such but I am not a fan of being able to see the outline of my legs through skirts, if that makes sense! I should stick to lined skirts really!

    Hello girls,

I've been AWOL too long I think - my wardrobe has definitely suffered without your guidance!

So, first up, my apologies for not consistently posting on everyone's blogs, but I've been in Lurk Mode for a few months :o. I'm slowly succumbing to the pressure of diet culture at work and have started eating Ryvita and going to the gym (recently kiboshed by flexor tendonitis caused by work.) I've just been given the role of Info and Communications officer and feel that my work wardrobe is not cutting it.

Any tips on how to be more "pulled together" without losing my 'fashion' identity? I'm more eclectic than elegant, as most of you will know... :p
