    Afternoon all

    *waves at red shoes*

I called in sick today as I woke up with a blinding migraine. Seems to have gone away with a combo of sleep and painkillers but I still feel like I've been poisoned or something. I sense that when I asked the waitress at lunch yesterday to check if mine could be made dairy free, she wasn't quite listening :( So I'm currently dossing around the house in old (too big) DP jeans and a Gap tshirt.

    Time for some more Nurofen...

Aw, poor you. Hope you feel better soon. (Maybe the postman will call tomorrow and make everything better).

Oooh Caroline, do let us know how the clothes-making goes, I think I have a free evening tonight so will hopefully finally finish some of the numerous half-done garments!
Alex, I hope the migraine etc goes away soon!!

Had a major panic this morning, I have a fish tank in my office which has 11 little minnows / darios in it, and this morning when i took the lid off to feed them, one jumped out, and down the back of the cupboard which the tank sits on!! I was really worried, but we managed to pull the cabinet out and grab him and get him back in the tank, and he seems fine now! Didn't realise they jumped though!!
  • Morning lovelies, a big hello to red shoes!!

DS2 hates his new (but old school) really anxious about it, don't think him or me slept well last night :( Ds1 is officially 'courting' i am way to young to have a son with a proper girlfriend. DH gave him a good talking to about the facts of life *coughs* god it was only yesterday i was a teenager..

wearing jeggings (again) T-shirt from carboot on sunday, silver pumps a blazer. The heavens have opened boo!!

Caroline, i make my own clothes too, having only ever touched a sewing machine for the first time in Feb, i start back at my sewing class tommorrow:T Really missed it!!

Alex, hope the head feels better soon, don't think the grotty weather help with headaches either!!

  • I bought my sewing machne a few months back but haven't dared use it for anything interesting. My mum is amazing and makes anything so I have her available for tutorials. I ordered lots of fabric from ebay but it hasn't arrived yet. Driving me mad!

    Afternoon all

In from work and just had delicious tea all made by DH followed by cheescake and now feel incredibly full, DS1 has just gone off to buy some sweets, 6 weeks ago he rarely ventured out of the street now he's really finding his feet and going everywhere -well as far as I will let him.

    Todays outfit
    Black tulip skirt £1.60ish F&F
Green 3/4 scoop neck tshirt/ top Matalan
    Black tights
Black ankle boots - bought last wear and only worn once but due to the rain this morning thought it was about time I wore them more

(DS1 back from Tesco with bag full of sweets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! unsure if this is a good idea - his friend bought a 2 litre bottle of coke)
  • Evening, thanks for the welcome all.

Alex - migraines are awful. I hope you feel better soon.

I've just started to unpick a dress I attempted to make last month. I'm going to take a deep breath and attempt it again, practicing with a black bed sheet. I've been drooling over the fabric on Sewbox. There's so much to choose from.

There's a good video on the Guardian website about a company called Traid that refashions unwanted textiles.

p.s. There's 20% discount at Oasis until midnight on Friday.

    not loving these tights :(
not sure what my view is on thick tights - these grey ones do remind me of school.
