I haven't got time to read back (I'm meant to be in a group!) but just wanted to say I have a discharge date :D
21st September (unless anything goes wrong between now and then) and I am coming home!

Thanks for the information Caroline. H&M is not a shop I usually go to but I will check it out when the time comes that I cant fit into my normal clothes.

Just another question, I know its different for everyone but how many weeks were you ladies when you found your normal clothes were too tight?

I was about 15 weeks first time but I was fully in maternity clothes by 10 weeks with Sam. Also NCT sales and obviously ebay will be your maternity clothes options. Try freecycle too.
  • Congratulations Ice !

    Great news Daisy !

Can't remember when my clothes got tight - first time I was working in a nursery so it was trousers and red polo shirt- the trousers I changed for my 'normal' tracky bottoms and polo shirt piched OH's - this was 99 -oh the glamour;) DS2 I was working in an office type environment and remeber getting a combat style skirt from H&M, other than that I had a dress from George which was just a size about 2 times bigger than normal - it was probably the only time I didn't really do 'fashion'.

    Afternoon :j.

Congratulations Ice, when I had a baby in 2008 there was loads of choice. Maxi dresses were amazing in Summer and tunic tops were great for bump skimming. My best buy, however, was a velour tracksuit from Primark. £6 and it grew with my bump (only in the house of course :rotfl:)

I'm signed off my 2nd job as it too strenous with my head bump (and because I never signed out on the day that I bumped my head they've screwed up my pay ) Light duties at my second job - yay.

Went retail shopping today and got myself a pair of boots for Autumn. From New Look and very pretty and a basic jersey from H&M. Going to Glasgow next week (maybe) so hopefully will find a few bargains there.
    Make £10 a day challenge (August) - £175/£310

Congrats Ice! And good news Daisy, well done!

I have genuinely suffered through today thanks to a combination of backsliding in my eating (an Oxo cube and some milk is not lunch, nor ever should be) and the fact that some of my colleagues spent a good portion of the morning tearing down other people for not being, variously, thin enough, healthy enough, 'fashionable' enough, or not making enough of an 'effort'. Mental health, what is that again?

Today's outfit was very work-appropriate and boring and not fit to mention. One of the architects told me that my new hair is 'very dramatic' though - taking that as a compliment. ;)

Magpye, they have that "discussion" each day in the office where I work. It's more like a fashion parade and slimming club than a work place!

  • Thanks Guys for your comments and advice on my lovely new frock.

Caroline I brought it instore as used other halves student card. Slightly annoyed with myself as my student card finished last Christmas didn't think about using my other halves card in its place doh! Only problem is have to take him with me, get him to pay then move money over to his account, never mind, discounts worth it.

Not sure on whether I can wear it with bare legs, as have really dodgy tan lines, had them for about a month now, started sailing so wearing a shorty wetsuit and my diving boots did not even think about the tan lines I would be left with and as I have been bumming around the beach with the kids etc over the holidays not really worried about them, back to work now though and am not looking forward to the comments lol. So going to try and get a really natural looking pair of tights any ideas?

Nice to see that Daisy is back on board and has a discharge date, she must be so chuffed.

Magpye I love your hair it look really good:)

Thanks for your advice guys xx
