I need to re-open a PayPal dispute.

Hello guys,

I'll try to keep this story as small as possible and easy to understand.

I purchased 2 sets of goods from a Chinese supplier. These goods happened to be a certain brand of t-shirt. When contacting the supplier and having conversations with him, he assured me the goods were all real and 100% genuine, so I went ahead and placed 2 orders totalling to £500.00

When the goods arrived, we inspected them further and they were certainly fake items.

We contacted the supplier asking that if we sent the goods back, could we get a refund. We had no reply off him for about 2 weeks, so we opened a PayPal dispute.

The day after we opened the PayPal dispute, he emailed us and said if we closed the disputes he would refund us. We closed them, and never heard from him since! It's been over a week now, so we're pretty sure that we've been done.

Is there any other way to re-open a paypal dispute? And have any of you been in a situation like this before?

Cheers

In short, no. Once closed, they're closed

Sorry, but you've probably been diddled.

No. You can only open a dispute once. Once you have closed it, that is the end.

You could try opening an ebay one, if you bought on ebay.

You can only have an Ebay or PP dispute open. However, with the glitches on Ebay, it may be worth a shot. Great advice hermum. Let's hope it works

Well he would, wouldn't he? I'm afraid he has got you good and proper. Still, a lesson learnt - don't close the dispute until you get the refund! (bolded for the benefit of others).

Or report him to eBay for selling fakes.

Hi, I have an Ebay and a Paypal dispute open for the same case, so it is possible. I opened the Ebay one first. hth. Gl with getting your money back.
I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:

You could ring PP and if you have an email from the seller saying he would refund if you closed the case, you could appeal to their better nature. For £500 I would certainly try.

Hang on, you've still got the stock? If so don't open a dispute with ebay yet. Can you get them verified as fake, on headed paper? If so get that first & then open an ebay dispute for fake goods. Get proof first as you only hve 10 days to get this.
As you ordered wholesale the company involved may work with you, or trading standards.

Would you be able to do a charge back at all? If not try pleading with Paypal to reopen it.
