Elfen - salad would win everytime. Living near a chinese takeaway has taken away the appeal of a takeaway!

lmc, I know what you mean...I live near an Indian, a kebab shop and a pizza shop (the pizza shop is next door and it REEKS) I only ever eat Chinese now but even that is losing it's appeal....the tuuuuuna salad won and I have enough for lunch tomorrow.

Phew, I'm glad it's not just me!

I'd rather cook from scratch now. I do have the odd bit of junk in the cupboard/freezer for those weak moments!

lmc, the only junk I've got is some chips in the freezer and some choccy in the fridge. The chips are for if I fancy them, which I might, but they're covered by bags of veg, including a bag of frozen cabbage, which is quite nice.

BB - Well done on your drive - at least you can drive....I learnt years ago but got made redundant before I had chance to pay for my test so never got round to it.....as the years have gone by and I've not needed to learn it's never been an issue but now DH isn't allowed to drive we're stuck....I know I'll have to bite the bullet but at the moment I can't go there.

Had a gorgeous roast chicken, cauli cheese and new potatoes for tea....plenty of left overs for a pie tomorrow and chicken bones are in the SC for stock for the freezer.

Managed to adjust the budget to pay for DD's bus passes and then found out that DD1 has gone over her "unlimited" text limit....how anyone can send 3400 texts in one month is beyond me and serious words have been said. She'll be paying the balance of that bill from her savings account. :mad:

Pooky, you want to check if your council does Taxi Card vouchers, they are for people who have mobility problems, and i think your hubby qualifies...:o

Also, look into getting a disabled bus pass and carers pass.

Sounds lovely Pooks, next time I'm down I'll find my way to yours by the smell of chicken cooking lol. And no, I can't see how you can send 3400 text in one month....did someone lose their voice?

Thanks Scaredy - there's no taxi scheme in this area (already checked) and DH does have a freebie bus pass - a carers one has just gone from £12.50 per year to £75 :eek: and to be honest trying to wheel him on and off the buses is hard work (the drivers are less than helpful and often the ramp doesn't meet the kerb). Hence getting the whizzy wheels - sometimes tho it would be nice to go a bit further afield without me having to trek the 5 miles.....although I'm walking about 15 miles a week at the moment which is having a fantastic effect on my weight and fitness.:D
