Ok I'm desperate to have an iPhone and until I saw it I wanted the iPhone 4 but it's a bit too square for my liking.
But I want to get a deal so do all you guys think the 3Gs will be coming down in price now the iPhone 4 is out??
Like the idea of the Tesco contract but not sure about network coverage where we are it can be a bit dodgy.

It has to some extent it's now available in 8GB only and has been reduced.
However it's Apple and they sell it at as premium product, don't expect it to become significantly reduced over the RRP.0 -
Before the iPhone 4 came out I got the impression the iPhone 4 would take over the 3GS price wise and the 3GS would take over from the 3G, what seems to have happened is the iPhone 4 came out at an even higher price while the 3GS stayed basically the same but has been reduced to 8GB.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. At present, you can't buy the 8Gb 3GS in the UK. From the way it's been priced, don't expect any great reductions in the cost of the larger models. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0

The guy in the o2 store told me yesterday that the price for the 3gs wouldn't reduce while the iPhone 4 remains so hard to get hold of, but things may change once the 4 becomes the norm. My local Tesco have loads of stock of the 16GB 3gs left but given that it's only £29 cheaper than the 16GB 4 on the same contract, I'd rather hold out for the newer model.0

You can; £419 from the Apple Store.War does not determine who is right - only who is left.0 -
Look on amazon 32gb 3gs start at £300Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! For Caroline my Goddess.0

i think the only places you will find it cheaper are secondhand on ebay or amazon
it looks like the networks arent dropping it and now its only going to be the 8gb anyway
edit-ive jsut looked on orange and theyre still charghing 440 for the 16g 3gs!
dont know how theyre getting away with it-you can get the iphone 4 for 50 quid moreWhat goes around-comes around0 -
The reason why orange is charging that price is they know people will see that and most likely pay the £50 more for the iphone 4. They know most people wouldn't pay £440 or so for an out of date phone like the iphone 3g though if people do then they will be most likely laughing there heads off

youre probably right griff
ive noticed the only time the prcie has gone down is when you want to sell one to one of the recycling sites
before the iphone 4 was out i could get 260 for my 3gs now its down to 230 or lessWhat goes around-comes around0 -
I don't mean the i phone 3gs etc is an out of date phone compared to many other phones on the market. Clearly it must be still a very good and popular phone but if you know what I mean it's now out of date compared with the Iphone 4

Gabby those sites will always give you less than the market value am sure as do they sell them on or something afterwards?0
