Kate Bush compilation - The Whole Story. Also the video from her only(!) tour - Live at the Hammersmith Odeon. Her most 'challenging' album is probably The Dreaming.

Stevie Nicks - I prefer the album Bella Donna, her compilation is Time Space

You could also try Judie Tzuke, Welcome To The Cruise and Stay With Me Till Dawn or even Belinda Carlisle...

Kate Bush - Cloudbusting, Babooshka, This Womens Work.

Why don't you download Spotify and listen there (or Youtube)? They are both free and you can listen to some songs you don't know.

All tracks by Stevie Nicks or Kate Bush.

Do not recall a "bad" track from either of them.

Thank's, I'm gonna have a good youtube session at the weekend with all of these and i'll look into spotify.

Thanks for all your suggestions everyone and thanks amiclue for mentioning other artists you think I might like. I like 80s kinda music and I like edgy and creative females like Kate and Stevie.

I also like Cyndi lauper (but again only know the singles) if anyone is a fan with suggestions too.

I'm 25 but when I was quite little I remember being hypnotised by Kate Bush on tv with Wuthering Heights (I think it was TOTP) and I used to wander round singing "Heeeeeeathcliffe, it's me....." etc not really having a clue what it was but liking it. I've also known Stevie's song 'Landslide' since I was little so that is kinda special to me.

If you can afford it get the Stevie Nicks Box set 'Enchanted'. Has all the best tracks from the first three albums plus some nice rare bits like a piano version of 'Rhiannon'.

Additionally a Kate Bush must is the remastered 'Hounds Of Love' with bonus tracks, including the beautiful 'Under The Ivy' and the 12" mixes of 'Cloudbusting' and 'Running Up That Hill'. Most of Kate Bush is excellent but 'Ariel' is not too great and avoid the film of 'The Line, Cross, etc' self indulgent nonesense...

    I concur with malachysdad.
The remastered Hounds of Love is so much better than the older version. Avoid "The Line, The Cross and The Curve" - while it's highly rated in Kate Bushmegafanland it's really carp (queued up to buy this when it came out and I've only watched it once since - very disappointing).
I do like Aerial (her most recent album), disc 2 is my fave. It's very different to her older stuff though. Don't forget to listen to track 4 on disc 1 ;).

Other than that I would say listen to all Kate's music there're few tracks I dislike. In fact some of the more quirky songs are my faves - And Dream of Sheep (Hounds of love); Delius (Never Forever);Under Ice (Hounds of Love); Watching You without Me (H o L) Suspended in Gaffa and Night of the Swallow (The Dreaming).

    HTH,
    MrsB.

Got to disagree there, personally I believe that one to be a classic, anyone who can actually sing a song about 'Pi' and bring it off is a genius.

Yeah, me too, I'd love to see her live. Sadly Kate only did one tour and said felt she gave too much of herself, felt too exposed on stage and has never toured again :(. Seeing as it's been 30 years since the tour I very much doubt she'll be on stage again.
