    i bought a pc monitor from lidl in 2007, just before the guarantee ended it started to go faulty so i spoke to the manf and they said to register the product then arrange a swap and they were fine with it, no wanting a fee or anything

    That's why I said "unless it suits you", don't forget we are dealing with different manufacturer's.
