Hello Miserly Mum,
We are disappointed that you didn’t enjoy your experience with us last year and chose not to book your wedding with us. I would like to clarify some points which you made in your post.
During 2009 there was considerable renovation and improvements made to Knockagh Lodge throughout the course of the year which did mean some disruption in the hotel and the surrounding grounds. The renovation of the room which you viewed (The Hazelwood Suite) was completed in January 2010.
With reference to your appointment with the wedding co-ordinator, the person whom you met with is no longer employed by Knockagh Lodge and has been replaced by our popular wedding co-ordinator Jacqueline. We would like to take this opportunity to apologise to you if any offence was caused to you or your partner.
We are currently in the process of rebuilding our official website. Updated photos of how weddings are hosted in the hotel are available on our Facebook page and will be uploaded to the official website in due course.
Many Thanks

Hello Tasha70
We are sorry that no-one replied to your original email. If you would like to contact us directly, we would be happy to discuss your complaint with you.
With reference to chair covers, Knockagh Lodge does not supply chair covers. If a bride wishes to have a chair covers for their wedding ceremony in the Hazelwood Suite they need to purchase extra from their supplier to cover this room. For Health and Safety reasons chairs can not be carried from one room to another while there are guests arriving for the wedding reception.
The picture on Facebook is shown to display how the room looks for wedding ceremonies, as many brides choose not to have chair covers. The bride from last Saturdays wedding choose to have chair covers in the room and these pictures will be uploaded in due course.
Can I reassure anyone attending a wedding in the near future or thinking of having their wedding reception at the Knockagh Lodge that we strive to achieve the highest standards of customer satisfaction for all weddings, events and functions.
Many Thanks
Greg Braniff

MSE TEAM PERMISSION: CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS

I have always had a good experience with the Knockagh Lodge over the years. My sister had her wedding reception there years ago and we have had a few family parties/meals. But lately the food hasn't been as great, even a few friends complained about their meal last month (food and service). It seems they might have taken on more than they can handle with the hotel extension.Norn Iron club member - 2650

I read the reviews on this hotel last week when I was booking to stay over as my wife's cousin was married here yesterday. I've stayed in hotels on holiday where reviews haven't been great and when I got there it was totally different, so I used the attitude "i'll judge for myself". What I read on here was exactly what I got.
I really don't know how the Health Authorities allowed this place to open. We sat yesterday after the speeches expecting the meal to be served when the blonde haired manageress asked the best man could he speak for another 30 minutes as the dinner ladies we're going to be a half hour late to serve the food.
25 minutes later... the bar man ended up serving us our soup
No residents bar and when we did go to bed, there was so much commotion in our corridor and the police were called.
At breakfast this morning, I asked the young girl 3 times for fruit juice as the jugs were empty, by the time she'd brought it to me I had finished my breakfast. In fairness to her she was under pressure and seemed to be serving the whole breakfast room on her own.
To cut a long story short, we certainly won't be back.0 -
Wonder how the Marketing Administrator will talk himself out of this one!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0
