Red light ticket - partner doesn't think he did it.

My partner just received a letter from the police about going through a red light.

My partner is sure this never happened.

Does anyone know how we can proceed? My first assumption is to write to the police and ask to see evidence? However is that gonna put their backs up a bit?!

Any advice or anecdotes?

Did he stop over the white line though? I see lots of cars do this these days. Specially taxis.

Not sure, will find out. He is unsure he even was on the roundabout that the letter mentions but my darling is a little scatterbrained sometimes:o.

Is stopping over the white line a ticketable offense if you can prove you wernt going any further?

This could be the one that nailed him (ie not actually going through on red).

Ask for the photos. I'm slightly surprised they didn't include them automatically.

Im confused as well because there seems to be three seperate offenenses. Dangerous driving, drive without due care and attention and contravening a red light. Is this normal? :s

I'm afraid it's not what you know but what you can prove.
My advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience.
