Hi,

Due a rubbish credit rating at the moment (but it's improving!) I've agreed to buy my fianc! car from him in November (55 plate Polo).

What I am looking for is some sort of standard agreement we can both sign to confirm repayments, term of payments…that kind of thing. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance...

    Other than you giving him cash each month I don't think there is any official way you can without involving the right laws.

    :rotfl:Lol...we do trust each other and love each other (v.much as it happens!) but I'm very independent and I think things to be done properly.

    Nothing wrong with that is there..???? ;)

    I think it's a fair enough thing to do to be honest. If the OP had came on with a post saying;

    "I was going to make a contract with my fiance but decided not to, now we've broke up and I'm stuck without money' then everyone would have slated her for not making a contract.

    Damned if she does, damned if she doesn't.
    This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

    I would have thought this was pretty easy...

    Draw up a sales agreement stating when the car was sold, to who & for how much. Include (if needed) an agreed payment schedule of £xxx per month for xxx months, print 2 copies, both sign each copy & you keep one.. he keeps one!

    Then pay by cheque every month so it's traceable.. job done! Gets a bit more difficult if you don't have a bank account but there's always relatives!

    Which laws are we talking about?

    Wouldnt this come under Legal intentions there can be no legal intention to form a legal relationship between family/partners. I could be wildly wrong.
