i went shopping with my three children yesterday and my 5 yr old was bursting for the toilets. when i asked a member of staff if he could use the toilets i was told no, due to health and saftey and because thier belongings are in the back and i might steal them.
I have just phoned their customer services??? to be told they dont care thats policy and I may have also wanted to crack the safe!!!!!
I have to say I left my trolley and went to asda and did my shopping there.
I will never shop there again I dont care how cheap there veg is!!!
so a warning to anyone with children make sure they pee before you go or just dont take them with you!

I think you might be going a bit OTT. These discount shops don't care about customer service because they cant afford to, the shops are usually pretty small also. Its fair enough they arnt going to let you in the toilets where all their belongings are, just because you have a child it doesnt mean you arnt going to steal something i'm afraid.
My mum used to make me use the toilet before i left the house, an idea perhaps?Aim - BUYING A HOUSE  by November 2013!Saved = 100% on 03/07/12 :j0 -
FWIW, when I used to work in small shops (pet stores etc) we wouldnt have let you use the toilets either (partly because of h and s, but also because of the ahem pictures we had in the loo...bit too naughty for joe public)0

*sigh*
.If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

You can't go anywhere and demand to use a toilet! Why should aldi let you use theirs, it is for staff only and as other posters rightly pointed out there are a number of reasons why this isn't possible.
I know children can't hang on as long as us grown ups which is the reason why you need to go when possible and not leave it til the last minute!:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly0 -

firstly i didnt demand to use their toilet i asked politley. what i objected to in the end was it being implied that i was a thief. alot of stores dont have public toilets but if you ask they will escort you to them to use Iceland for example, Next, shall I go on...
By the way isn't this supposed to be a venting board not a beating board!!cracker challenge silver: £610/£1010.00 :jOne debt vs 100 days: 1000.00/0.000 -
a wise man goes to the toilet when he can, a fool when he has to.0

Very few people would want members of the public wandering through their staff areas where they are having breaks, using the staff toilets themselves or where they keep their belongings during their shifts.
Surely you can see that this is just common sense on the part of the staff?
A lot of stores escorting you makes no difference to what you're talking about, customers have absolutely no entitlement to use staff toilets, if the staff in a particular shop want to spend their time escorting people to the staff toilets then that's up to them, unfortunately for you the staff in your Aldi did not.
You asked to use the staff toilets and they refused. Simple as that.
What in God's name you hoped to achieve by complaining to Aldi customer services is beyond me other than giving the entire department a good laugh.
By the way isn't this supposed to be a venting board not a beating board!!

They did not imply you were a thief, they said that they did not allow people to use the toilets because of the possibility of theft. Unfortunately thieves do not come with a sticker saying 'I am a thief'.
(Scarily similar crosspost with Sandoval!)Gone ... or have I?0
